An ability to differentiate between "what it'll take" and "all we're willing to give" is crucial to this discussion. It appears you may not be making the distinction.

I dont see sac doing much better next yr, this is just like klove debacle in minn....lovesaid all the right things till lasy off season, i dont see cousins waiting till the ladt yr of his contract to start his temper tantrum

The not doing better thing is subjective. Just as I constantly read about Randle and Clarkson here I think DMC/WCS/Gay can one of the best front courts in BBall, I think McLemore can continue growing, Collison is solid as oak. We just need a couple pieces in FA and to re-sign Casspi IMO, but it is subjective

The record/standing is not subjective....if la is still in 20-30 win mode 2-3 yrs from now id be worried and start looking to change things up. Sac doesn't have enough cap to sign anyone of significance, only way you improving is via trades and that will take time for team to adjust to new players. History tends to repeat itself, you being a kings fan should see a pattern by now, you guys sound just like minn fans during klove era with the mantra "this will be the season things turn around"

I saw a good team last year, even with one of the worst benches in the league

I saw the team jump out to 9-6 with one of the toughest schedules in the league, and the losses were of the ilk of losing 24 or more point leads in Memphis and Dallas before the team was unsettled by coaching change/quit on Corbin and Cousins illness

I saw the Kings have one of the best statistical starting lineups in the league pre Collison injury http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2015/2/4/7976569/sacramento-kings-lineup-starters-ty-corbin-demarcus-cousins

I saw glimpses of what the unit can do and the core of Cuz/Rudy/DC hasn't been together for 2 years yet

im not saying things can't get better but this is EXACTLY what minn fans were saying when they had Klove and at end of the day injuries and loses kept accumulating....word for word minn fans said exact same thing 2 yrs ago

I hate these DeMarcus Cousins rumors. We have two top 10 prospects that we've never seen play a single NBA game and rumors are saying we are offering to trade one of them or even both? Completely stupid to even consider a trade without evaluating the talent first. I just hope these dumb rumors stop...

The Lakers refuse to include Randle, the seventh overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, in any deal centered around DeMarcus Cousins, reports Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times.

The "pick" was never in play. He didn't say anything about the player being picked was never in play. Mitch used smart wording.

Mitch and everyone in the organization are going to continue to gush about Russell until after Summer League because they probably believe it and it only keeps his trade value high. See the Cavs with Andrew Wiggins.

Randle will be kept. Randle, Aldridge, and Cousins will be the new Odom, Gasol, and Bynum.

now that the lakers picked up russell, theres just no way i want to trade him for cousins....russell is going to be a superstar...he has all the tools. he's going to be very, very good in the NBA. Randle will not be as good, but he has a good head on his shoulders and he's a bulldog. you can't just trade away young talent like that without even assessing them.
Cousins won't do anything for the lakers except put up 25/12. With cousins, we'll be good enough to make the playoffs but not win, and bad enough to get a late 1st round pick that won't do us any good.
keep our assets, and sign free agents! don't trade our assets away without assessing them first!

Can we lock this thread up? Sacramento made it clear they aren't trading him for now. We aren't interested right now either. Can we move on and reopen this thread if more news occurs in the future? Seems pointless to discuss anything related to Cousins right now.

What myersia said! Please!

Makes me nervous everytime I read an article or a post that suggests they're going to trade away our youth for Cousins!
