I hear ya but I'm trying to be positive. Having had three major sports related injuries/surgeries I can tell you pain is the bodies primary way of telling you something is wrong. If Embiid is truly pain free that is the biggest indicator of his health. More so then an MRI or CT Scan. He may just have an abnormal foot. There's literally a dozen or so things that could be wrong. But not having pain is a very good sign so I am hanging my hat there.

I am in no way an expert....but it reminds me of those ridiculous 5 toe running shoes with no padding. Besides being hella ugly, I read that they did studies on them and it showed that people basically running barefoot in them were breaking apart the small bones in their feet. I think there are ways that you can be doing long term damage to yourself that are below the threshold of feeling pain. It's just a matter of time.

The good news is that they caught it at the very beginning of the area showing damage. So if there is a way to shore that area up, they gave him every chance to fully recover and move forward. I'd love to hear what the theoretical surgical approach would be to fix it. No idea how that would work.

If Embiid has to sit out another season, then go ahead. At this point, he could be Greg Oden or a perennial All-Star.

If possible, do what is necessary to give him a chance at a healthy career. If that means, sitting out two years, then do it. It would leave a tough road to get back to where we want him, but that may end up being the best option.

Nothing else to do but psychoanalyze.....

He posts a picture of himself in from before (I feel like I've seen it before today) when he was starting to ramp up his workouts in March. The comment suggests that something has changed for the better when it is accompanied with the hashtags of #theysleep and #hardwork. Im reading way too much into it, but could he be signaling that the new scans just came back clear and that he's good to go? If the comment was meant to be negative, he wouldn't have also used #theysleep.

God forbid Embiid is healthy, even if on a minutes restriction. Three headed monster of Noel-Okafor-Embiid in the front court, here we come!

i don't think it really matters if "sources" keep claiming that Embiid is telling people around him he's fine and doesn't need surgery.

I think it's already been established as fact that he feels fine and has no pain.
i mean thats all good and well but that doesn't really matter if his foot is screwed regardless and needs surgery.

Brown mentioned that in about a week the team would make a statement, so soon, perhaps Embiid had a positive examination.

That would be fantastic news. The fanbase would be throwing block parties left and right at that news.

if by some miracle they decide that Embiid 'doesn't' need surgery, then this will have been one of the most unnecessarily bizarre ordeals that I can remember in my years of watching sports.

but i wouldn't bet on it

That would be weird not having personnel problems. But that's a welcome "problem". However the problem from what I've read so far is the healing part. He's not feeling any pain, however if it's not healed he shouldn't be on the court playing. I say let him sit again and let's see how Big Ja and Nerlens do during the season.

Embiid - Okafor - Noel rotation down low, it is what dreams are made of. We draft a wing/PG next year, year after contend for playoffs, if a SUPERSTAR FA becomes available we'll have plenty of chips to use for trading. I'm letting my imagination run here

I am at full lack of reason with my love for Embiid. I want our team to be good but for some unexplained reason I desperately want him to be the player to lead us back to contention. I know Jah has damn near as much potential but Embiid is my dude.

Joel Embiid just posted this to his Instagram account. So either he got back good news from the doctors about his foot's recovery, or he has the worst sense of self-awareness in the history of professional sports.

Lol. Also, remember, Hinkie had mentioned about scheduling a medical trip to NC in his post draft presser a few days ago.

I always thought this was just the Sixers being overly cautious and really just wanted Embiid to skip Summer league. Too many people around Embiid were saying it wasn't that serious.

This. I just love the guy. Maybe its just that Okafor's game is a little boring or maybe he'll grow on me also but my hopes and dreams are with Jojo.

Hypothetically let's say Embiid can play at 100% this year win o minutes restriction. Who do you think has a better chance to win ROY? Embiid or Okafor?
