Draymond the backup plan to losing Sap?

Is Green more productive than Sap? You comfortable with a max deal for him?

If Sap is smart, he lets Green get his deal, then ask for the same.

I'd take Draymond Green at 25 over Millsap at 29 for sure right now. Also, Green's max will be less than Millsap's (I think by like $4-$5 million dollars at the start of the deal?) since he hasn't been in the league as long.

Only way Bud pursues Splitter is if Tiago promises to jack up way more 3-pointers at a very inefficient clip. That's what we look for in a Center with the Atlanta Hawks.

I get it, though. If the biggest selling point for LMA over Millsap is three inches in height...seems like sticking with the player you know might be a better decision. I'm more concerned with the fact we're about start an undersized front court for the 11th straight season.

It's unbelievable we've been bullied in the paint for the entirety of Al's career, yet we refuse to take definitive action to correct.

Please, just sign a capable seven footer at least as a backup!!!!!

I have a strong fear that 17-0 January might, long-term, be one of the worst things to happen for this team.

Last summer, Ferry was doing anything possible to acquire more talent.

Bud, however, is doing anything possible to keep the same core together...in hopes of a repeat of that dominant stretch.

I sincerely hope Bud is right: That THJ, a backup Center and some luck with injuries is all that stands between us and true title contention.

Changing major parts would undoubtedly be a risk. But staying the course...locking ourselves into the same team for massively more money...man.

Summer 2016 will be telling. Horford will be a Free Agent. Teague will want an extension likely near the max. Dennis will be at the apex of his rookie contract and we'll have to decide whether he's the future or just a good trade piece. And there are no other young prospects in the pipeline ready to take over starting roles.

If we go all in with this same core...I hope Bud can pull this off. Getting swept again by the LeBron's would be pretty devastating.

Keeping Millsap and DMC won't kill us. It's the bench that kills us. Our backups bigs were either short or slow or not athletic. Pero and to some degree Muscala were like novelty players, stretch 5's that can't protect the rim or score in close. Elton Brand was the toughest cat on the team and he's like 50 yrs old...If we re-up with last years starters then our only hope to improve must come thru cheap, lackluster but savvy moves like...

How much is that going to take? I was hearing Wade had no major interest at this point, and that sounded just like a player we would be interested in. Sekou has Wade & Ellis in the top 4 for SGs:

1. Jimmy Butler, Chicago Bulls (RFA) — The top guard, regardless of position, on the market this summer, Butler gambled on himself and it should pay off handsomely.

2. Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat (UFA, Player Option) — Even at 33 with all of the wear and tear of 12 seasons in the league, Wade remains one of the league’s most versatile and dynamic players.

3. Danny Green, San Antonio Spurs (UFA) — An ideal fit for the role he played with the Spurs, Green’s skill-set is a fit anywhere in today’s NBA.

4. Monta Ellis, Dallas Mavericks (UFA) — Another casualty of a somewhat lost season in Dallas, Ellis in search of the right fit for a tweener who shot just 28 percent from deep last season.

Cheap, lackluster but savvy moves like the ones that propelled the Hawks to the top of the East? Yet the overall desire is still for the team to make a "splash".

If we re-up with last years starters then our only hope to improve is thru cheap, lackluster but savvy moves like (A) signing a cheap, unproven but talented C like Alexis Ajinca who made less than a million $ last year. He has great size and has some intriguing skills (B) acquire a cheap elite athlete on the perimeter. Someone who can finish over defenders if need be i.e. Jeremy Evans, who also happens to be a terrific weak side shot blocker and runs the floor like a deer. (C) Next we need an enforcer. A cheap, smart, mean enforcer. Someone like...Kyle O'quinn. He's a 6'10 bruiser in the Bill Laimbeer mold. (D) Last but not least we need a real stretch four albeit, a cheap one like Ryan Kelly. Yeah, he's under contract but I don't think it would take a lot for the Lakers to give him up. Say...a future draft pick? What about Perry Jones now? The draft has come and gone and we didn't make a splash but we did get two future 2nd rd picks. As I said, not sexy but with little in the way of cap space we're gonna have to get creative and dust off some overlooked talent.

Do we have both the full and mini- MLE? If so, armed with those, a future 1st and two future 2nd rd picks we should be able to acquire the type of bench depth that we need to improve without changing starters.

Even if we could bring those guys back, I think a D will signing would be a good move for us. Would be a fairly cheap guy to bring of the bench. Maybe after finding a team that can actually develop him like we did with Carroll, it would benefit both parties.

Derrick Williams? He's restricted with a $6 million plus qualifying offer. I think he's talented but... Can we afford to try and outbid Sac for his services? I would much rather cast my nets out for KJ McDaniels who is also restricted but has a lower qualifier and may not be in the Rockets future plans.

I doubt Sac would invest heavily into D Will and I never said we had to either. Throw him an offer, and if Sac matches, then fine.
