Pero and to some degree Muscala were like novelty players, stretch 5's that can't protect the rim or score in close. Elton Brand was the toughest cat on the team and he's like 50 yrs old...If we re-up with last years starters then our only hope to improve must come thru cheap, lackluster but savvy moves like...

Cheap, lackluster but savvy moves like the ones that propelled the Hawks to the top of the East? Yet the overall desire is still for the team to make a "splash".

Well thats why i wont overreact if the big news is we retained our starting 5, and why I dont think the THJ is that big of a "crappy" move. We all were HO HUM on Thabo last year, DMC/PM 2 years ago, Bazemore etc. All turned out to be better than expected.

I think the Lackluster is more toward the Hawks arent going to be the team that lands a Superstar. We are SAS, we have to do it through the draft, and even then, we arent really doing that well.

I still maintain we need to get at least 1 BIG in here, and I hope its someone I know

Just read the Kings are putting on the press for Schroder again.

I am interested in what they might be offering.

Even if we could bring those guys back, I think a D will signing would be a good move for us. Would be a fairly cheap guy to bring of the bench. Maybe after finding a team that can actually develop him like we did with Carroll, it would benefit both parties.

Derrick Williams? He's restricted with a $6 million plus qualifying offer. I think he's talented but... Can we afford to try and outbid Sac for his services? I would much rather cast my nets out for KJ McDaniels who is also restricted but has a lower qualifier and may not be in the Rockets future plans.

I doubt Sac would invest heavily into D Will and I never said we had to either. Throw him an offer, and if Sac matches, then fine.

I never said that you said...whatever. $6 million is a pretty big investment for what could be perceived as a bust. Anyways, I'm with you. Throw him an offer.

The only playes they have that I'd want is WCS and he isn't a win now guy. Schro is much more valuable to us now.

Agreed. I'd have given almost anything to get that draft pick and bring Justise Winslow into the fold. I'd have taken all the garbage contracts they wanted to ditch as well. But from a talent standpoint, there's not much on their team I'd want. Unless they complete a DeMarcus trade and get massive amounts of assets in the process...

They got nothing I'd think we want.

Hoopshype is showing in on their twitter feeds: Chris Broussard: Sources: Kings like FA’s @Rajon Rondo & @Jeremy Lin. Eyes Ty Lawson, Dennis Schroder, Jrue Holiday n trades. Plan 2 play another PG w/DCollison

I saw where Monta Ellis is Plan B for the Heat should DWade leave. It might be about Bud getting there first before DWade decides.

Would David West take on a backup role to Al/Sap? Interested if not too expensive.

I, for one, say we jump on K.J. McDaniels. The Rockets are looking to create cap space. They just drafted Dekker at SF. We could easily get K.J. for a draft pick and salary dump or just sign him to an offer sheet. He is talented, athletic and has terrific defensive instincts. With Aldridge in play this week now is the time to strike.

Alexis Ajinca. What do you think? As a cheap option @ Center? He has some latent talent and he is 7'2. 2 yrs/$3 - $4m ?

Give me Jeremy Evans. He instantly solves our rebounding problems against big lineups.

Looking like LAL are in play for DEANDRE and LMA , both, one, doesn't matter.

Dal will SnT Chandler to clippers for DEANDRE if they can.

Our only link to is Monta Ellis that I've heard .

Reports are LMA wants to bring RoLo with him if possible

I'm telling you, ALL SIGNS point to bud not believing in bigs, small ball just won the NBA title.

He's not interested in bigs anymore, all we are linked to is guards and combo guards

Piece of advice: Don't believe everything you hear! It's not like the Hawks FO will pass their reports out on who they're targeting. Gotta look at logical fits. It's mandatory we get a big man, the numbers say so anyway. We'll definitely get better.

I know the hawks usually keep stuff REALLY close to the chest, but I'm not expecting anything big. It'll be small calculated moves IMO.
