im not sure blowing our wad yet is a good idea. Let the big guys fall out of play and take the big market teams outs of play.

This anticipated cap increase is really going to make it difficult to sign enough quality players it seems

I think Phil's patience will play a huge role in this. One that early crop goes we will be left with the most $$$ and can get some leverage back from the FA's.

Right now the FA's have all the leverage because they have multiple options. Once options start drying up you can use your $$$ more prudently.

Now there is some risk because the quality of players might be lesser but you might be able to get 3-4 solid impact pieces for the $$$ instead of just blowing it on 2 guys.

I figure we have 27.2 + 1.5 million release of cap holds + 2 million more than expected cap raise gives us 30.7 million

we can give Monroe his max, give afflalo 1 year at 7.5 and start David West at 7.5 for 3 years.
