Ugh, not exactly the greatest fit but atleast he'll retain trade value and his max will be lower than what Carroll got paid just now.

He's not that bad. Skilled, capable scorer, good rebounder, has good size.

If he can be had for cheaper hes good insurance if more scoring in the post and rebounds is needed like a younger Boozer. I would have prefered Milsap.

The timing is just so uncomfortable for them. Long flight, lack of sleep, meeting with an FA you can't feel too confident about getting, in an away city while the rest of the league is making signings.

How can they even concentrate on this meeting thinking that when you get out of that room, all the guys that you want may not be available anymore.

DeMarre Carroll should have been the target FA. He got overpaid.
Danny Green should have been next in line. He got resigned.
LMA seems doubtful according to WOJ
DJ seems primed for the Mavs

here is 1 scenario-

1. Sign paul pierce to a 1-2 year contract
2. SIGN and TRADE Jordan Hill to Mavs for Tyson Chandler (assuming they get DJ). Both sides would benefit.

go with Russell/Kobe/Pierce/Randle/Chandler...with supreme focus, that's a cheap lakers team that could make a run imo.

Look at his net PER at center. He's an intriguing option for the right price. He's young, plays in the post, and solid on defense.

Look at his net PER at center. He's an intriguing option for the right price. He's young, plays in the post, and solid on defense.

I know that he's a much better player at C than at the 4. I just don't know what we're planning to do for Defense.

yeah but he's probably the most realistic get. at least we'd have a very young core of guys who can grow together.
