OKC needs to resign Kanter asap. Hopefully we target a 3D player. The question is which players will fit that description?

Don't have any way to, unless they're taking a 3 mil a year contract. Its Kanter and Singler, that's the free agent action.

They could trade Jones and Novak for one.

Yeah, but that's not gonna actually get a player, maybe a tpe, but that's it. And I'd bet if they're moved its for salary and a roster spot for Qualls.

You forgot Dion. Never forget the ace up your sleeve.

3 years from now that's less than 5% of cap. Equivalent to Augustin now.

Jodie Meeks got 6.5 to just shoot 3s. And $5mil a year for a bench-quality swingman is solid while the money is pouring into the league like this.

I'm fine with Singler, but FIVE years? That's a long time to lock yourself into a guy even on a cheap contract.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Fifth year team option according to Mayberry.

spearsy23 wrote:Really happy for Qualls after reading about him. looks like he left early because he has a 2 year old son. Now he gets to rehab on company time and draw an NBA salary. If he didn't get this opportunity it probably would've been tough to rehab, work and keep focusing on basketball, may have even ended his career as a player.

Great read.

As a die-hard Razorback fan- MQ was by far my favorite player. I was selfishly mad that he declared- but knew his hustle game and knack for scoring would land him on a roster. Then to hear about his setback was disheartening- but if any player is going to use a setback as motivation- it's him. I'm anxious for his rehab to conclude and him work his way back. He's talented as all get out. He does have some flaws. However- once he gets another shot- watch out. Dude can play.
OKC Thunder fan, too.

I'm surprised about the Singler contract. I realize the cap is going up almost 1/3 for 2016-2017, but we aren't there yet. I didn't expect the salaries to take this big of a jump this off-season. OKC didn't have a choice. They had to pay Singler like they have to pay Kanter. They have no way to improve the team excepts players they already have getting better and you can't let a 38% 3pt shooter walk when you can't replace them if you are trying to win.

Really? This was the least I thought he'd get honestly, I thought 3/15 or 4/20, its a year longer with a TO. Its just the market.

Cant get Shump. Could get Tucker fro Novak and Jones. But, we don't have much to offer other than that.

I like Tucker.

I didn't expect teams to start giving away next year's cap money this year. The good news is that it will greatly limit the teams that will actually be able to chase KD much less do it with pieces in place that would be tempting.
