Brandan Wright has agreed to a three-year, nearly $18 million contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Grizzlies used their full midlevel exception to sign him.

Wright, 27, split last season between the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns. He averaged seven points and 4.9 rebounds in 40 games for the Suns.

At 6-foot-10, Wright gives the Grizzlies a long, athletic forward who should be an upgrade over Kosta Koufos. Wright delivers another frontline weapon with a lineup that includes Zach Randolph and the likely return of All-Star center Marc Gasol.

Good for him, but as a Mavs fan, make it staaahhhpppp. Mavs are either missing out on somebody or seeing someone join a division rival/team in conference, neither is a good thing.
