We were LMA second choice after eventually signing with San Antonio.

Not confirmed, though, gaining traction.

- We signed Tyson Chandler to strengthen our pitch to LMA.

- Sarver, Babby, McDonough, Knight, Bledsoe, Horny, Watson, and Chandler all attended the meeting with LMA

- They met for about 2 and a half hours, LMA was very impressed with our pitch.

- Now it looks like its between us and San Antonio to sign him.

=Signed Tyson Chandler to 52/4. Immediately brought Chandler into our meeting with Aldridge alongside Babby/McDonough/Horny and Bledsoe/Knight/Earl Watson(mentor to LMA in PDX, now one of our assistant coaches)

=Lost Wright to Memphis

=Waiting to hear on LMA's decision which won't be announced today since he's still meeting the Knicks tmw. Stein and Berger say we'ved moved alongside SAS in contention to land him, but there's this unknown Euroleague reporter David Pick who just tweeted out that LMA is going to SAS, so nobody really knows what to do with that info

=If LMA agrees, we'd have to work a sign and trade with PDX to make salaries work, since we used all our cap space on Tyson Chandler

International guy. I have no idea how he would know more than Woj, Stein, etc. Anyone could have told him that. Some dude walking down the street.

Playing Len at PF has got to be a joke? Trying to unaturally mold him into some type of Stretch 4 would hamper his long term development as a center and he still needs to develop a reliable post game. Our offense would suffer just so we could have a twin towers defensive frontcourt

He has a sweet stroke and was shooting 3s in college. Not sure how unnatural this is to him. I can't understand how playing next to Chandler would create any suffering.

This.

It's not rocket science Len is 7 feet he is agile he can shoot from midrange out. He won't suffer from this.

Chandler will instill toughness and restrain the twins and maybe get them focused and more productive which is a bonus.

That's your opinion, but it seems like mine is more in line with the people that matter.

What is that supposed to mean?

It means saying something that other people posted is a joke is ridiculous, especially when the team decides to do it. No matter if the team gets it right or wrong, they know more than us at the end of the day.......saying something along the lines of I don't agree with it or it is a bad idea is acceptable, but calling it a joke is a little more offensive. Basically you are calling someone else's OPINION a joke. Sometimes it maybe, but not in this case, so I just decided to put a mirror in your face.

I don't know if you guys remember but we had a play last year which was designed for Len to pop up the arc in the corner. He drained it.

Guy has great shooting mechanics; not crazy to think he could learn how to hit the three regularly

Keeps his elbow tucked in, high release point, smooth stroke, nice touch (getting awkward w my descriptions lol)

Len would still play the 5 but he could be a Gasol type.

Damn...

I misread that we resigned Wright. Thought his deal was pretty cheap for his production...

I'm not sure about the Tyson signing, if we don't end up with LMA, where does that leave us? Chandler is clearly a guy who should be paid to play for a contender so I'm not sure this is a good signing.

Can we not ship Tuck/Mook to Cle for Haywood expiring to shed contract in separate deal and sign Aldridge outright and go over the cap?

Cle needs wings who can shoot. We have alot of wings

Yes you do, especially if the guy averaged 10 and 11 last year, plus worse case, Len play the 4. Primary goal was to get LMA and contingency plan was play Len at the four.

think that is a very underrated part of the signing.

We all wanted a Porzingis/Len front line

Well Len can shoot from deep and has range. you let Chandler play the 5 and you have Len slide from the 5 to the 4.

you can do kieff/len
kieff/chandler
Len/chandler

why would Len have to be a stretch four? We didn't make Markieff be one, although he had range out to the three. Len could be the pick and pop, while Chandler is the pick and roll. I'd much rather Len learn from Chandler than Mark West (not that I don't like West).

Kobe is doing Lakers so much hurt..
- Chased out Howard
- Howard leaving, ruined their window, chasing Gasol out
- Signs for 25 million a year with a terrible lineup and no other stars locked up, meaning all the decent role players have to be let go.
- Comes to Free agent presentations and preaching his name as at the bare minimum "equal" to the star FA, solidifying the notion that Bryant will not play 2nd fiddle to anyone.

Bryant and Nash should get christmas cards from Suns fans/laker haters every year.

Chandler brings two things regardless of LMA, 1. leadership 2. rebounding averaged almost twice as many rebounds per game as our highest per guy.

Yeah I think that's an option. Don't know the specific cap numbers though so not sure how much we need to free up.

True, they are no worse a team, but how much better does a 32 year old Chandler really make them? Enough to justify giving him 52 million over 4 years?

We are paying a 32 year old, with a history of injury problems, 52 million dollars. He averaged 11 and 10 last year. It is not unreasonable to think that Alex Len couldn't average 11 and 10 next year. What Tyson Chandler brings to the actual basketball court at this point in his career, is not far off from what Len can give us, and Len is 21 and on a rookie contract. He does provide a veteran presence and gives us depth at the 5, but again, is that really worth 52 million dollars?
