Hmmm... Option on year 3? What kind of option? Has to be player option, unless Doc hasnt learned anything about partially guaranteed contracts.

He's slotted for the tax payer's MLE, which means Clippers expect to be over the tax, which mean its likely Jordan is re-signing.

Heard on NBA TV that 3rd year is player option but Wojnarowski contradicts that report. Also, I heard that the Wizards offered him a 2-year deal at $6.5 million per.

Completely agree. Before Pierce, Wes would be an absolute terrible addition, but now he'd be perfect. All that's left is to re-sign DJ.

Dont understand the team option. Either guarantee all 3 years (expecting him to retire on year 3) or partially guarantee it. Doc scared he would offend Pierce?

Just seems odd to me. Hell give him a player option.

Im splitting hairs, but I did not expect a team option.

I don't know how I feel about this. It's better than where we were a few hours ago I guess, but the posturing for Pierce since last off season was always kind of lost on me. He was fine this year and had some good playoff games obviously, but the guy is pushing the hard upper boundary in age already. Let's be real, it's not like he's some big upgrade over Matt Barnes over the next 1-3 years if he even holds up. He can probably give more independently good games here and there, but I don't see this as a meaningful upgrade to the roster.

The interplay between the other moves since the Stephenson deal and going forward in FA with DJ clearly matter too, but in isolation, this was never a FA target that I was enamored with over the last couple years.
