I love me some Monroe. Him and Robin Lopez are my top two guys. Monroe's got the most pure talent and the highest upside. He just needs a kick in the pants on the defensive end.

I don't think Monroe gives max impact, and there could be usage issues with the projected starting five, but if we added him, it would make next season very interesting to watch. If the ball sharing was there, that would be a tough lineup to match up with across the board.

I too still feel the sting of the octo-beard...but I think Monroe is a significantly better signing for where this team is at than when we signed "The Usher":

The only way we are ever going to compete is threw the draft and player development makes me even more sick that we gave up that clips picks man we need Giannis jabari and mcw to take big steps next years or we are going to be right back in the lottery picking in the 12-15 range with everyone around us getting better

Clips pick isn't going to be any thing compared to that Lakers' pick if they strike out in free agency.

Has a decent shot to be protected if they completely strike out.

We were the second best defense in the league with Pachulia starting at C. I'm not worried about that with Kidd and MCW/Middleton/Giannis in the starting five. You can sure as hell run the same D with Monroe as we did with Zaza, and it isn't like Henson was an all world help defender either. I agree our d improves more with Lopez or Chandler, obviously, but Monroe adds some offensive versatility. There are pros and cons to all these guys, we aren't getting Gasol.
