Post Your FA Disappointment** Offseason HERE (FA/Trades)

Post#1 » by 313 Professor » Wed Jul 1, 2015 11:20 pm

Lol nothin is really going yet on so I'm gonna throw one together real quick. I've got more...

Outbid for Monta $13mil/year for 3 years
Scoop Bargnani $5mil/year for 2 years
Scoop Joel Anthony and John Lucas for the minimum
Trade KCP & Meeks to Memphis for Courtney Lee & Matt Barnes (Lee is an expiring KCP can replace him cheap, and they need knockdown shooting)
Extend Drummond

Rotation
1: Jackson / Jennings / Dinwiddie
2: Ellis / Jackson / Lee / Dinwiddie
3: Lee / Stanley / Barnes / Hilliard
4: Illyasova / Barnes / Bargnani / Stanley / Tolliver
5: Drummond / Bargnani / Anthony

Title!

We have lineups for EVERY matchup
A Pure 1 - Jennings
Three 1/2's - Ellis, Jackson, Dinwiddie
One 2/3 - Courtney Lee
A Pure 3 - Hilliard
Two 3/4's - Stanley/Barnes
Two Pure Stretch 4's - Illyasova / Tolliver
A 4/5 - Bargnani
A Pure 5 - Drummond
Defensive Backup Big - Anthony

We have ball-handling, shooting and scoring at every position, AND defense at every position (Jackson/Lee/Stanley/Barnes/Drummond).

Title!

KCP & Meeks for two players that are basically the same, but older? Yeah, I pass, not sure how or why you would ever think of that trade.

Trade Jennings to the Knicks or Lakers

Give Biyombo / KJ McDaniels / Austin Rivers / Derrick Williams each 2 year / $10 mil deals in hopes something pops.

Size and defensive matchups. KCP is a 2-3, Meeks is pretty much a 2. Courtney Lee is a 2-3 3&D guy just like KCP just a more consistent shooter at this point. We lose nothing in the KCP/Lee swap but the youth. Instead of a 2 in Meeks we swap him out for a guy like Barnes who can defend the 3 & 4 and allows us to matchup with some of those "versatile forwards." Plus, Barnes is a veteran that can help Stanley develop as a 3/4 himself. We lose a limited defensive sniper at the 2 and gain defensive versatility... but can still shoot.

Nothing to impressive

1. Jackson/Jennings/Dinwiddie
2. KCP/Meeks
3. Brewer or Dunleavy, wouldn't mind starting Stanley.
4. Illy/Tolliver
5. Dre/Mcgee

I already think we're a playoff team with the team we have tho. I expect some nice improvements from Dre, RJ, and KCP. Don't see us getting a Free Agent that makes a big impact

Ellis is too ball dominant to coexist with Jackson, so that backcourt would be cancerous the moment after first tip off.

Lol Why would Memphis trade a player they just traded for to start at SF to us for two players that have never really played sf? That would leave them yet another void and SF. Plus with your lineup we would be even worse defensively.

Monta Ellis would require at least 16mil. outbidding isn't 13mil. Hell Iman Shumpert just signed a 10mil a year deal and Brandon knight is 14mil

Bargnani will probable get around 8-10mil. New orleans hornets backup center just got 5mil a year and he hardly plays.

I would sign Corey Brewer to a 3 year 30 mil a year deal.
and sign Biyambo to a 3 year 21mil

KCP for Lee, really?

Haven't people learned that giving up on young players for pennies only for them to develop and make us regret is a recurring theme with us?

I agree if we're talking streetball, but that's where coaching comes in. They are going to have to buy in to be unselfish but their games can be compatible. All 3 of Jennings, Ellis, and Jackson can hit a spot up three. Be willing to practice and hit open 3's, and when it's on you to run pick & roll and when the ball swings to you make a play. We have shooters around them and an elite athletic big who can finish. There should be no excuse. With one of them always in (maybe mix Dinwiddie in there) we should get a good shot EVERY possession.

Monta had the same problem with his last team the Mavs with a great coach what makes you think it would magically change here.

They were doing fine until Rondo (who can't play off ball) came in. Rondo was more of the cause of the problems than Monta. They just gave Rondo the ball and started losing. I'd be a little mad about that too honestly... wouldn't you?

They would have Jeff Green, Vince Carter, and KCP that can play the 3, and don't have as big of a need at the 3/4 because they already have Green, and run Z-Bo and Marc together anyway.

Lee is only 29, and he's a 3&D guy that shoots a high percentage from deep. KCP is pretty much... him. We get out of Meeks' contract too. And get 3/4 depth. I wouldn't call that pennies.

If you can't see Monta and Reggie are a horrible fit then I really don't know what else to say.

I like this kinda... cheap versatility. Multiple options. I always am too high or too low with the numbers but bringing in a 1/2 (Rivers), 2/3 (KJ), 3/4 (Williams), and a 4/5 (Biyombo) I wouldn't mind. A lot of guys who can show up, and a lot of options if they don't.

A few other names I saw I liked were McGee and Dunleavy.

Some people here, really hate our current players, or just want draft picks, and young players.

It is what it is I guess. I agree though, I will not give up on current players.

I didn't think Free Agency was going to go down like this. It went by QUICKLY. All the major FA are gone and the ones that really don't know where they're going to play are taking their time. We got screwed yes. But people are underestimating how desperate teams are going to be trying to trade away good players on good contracts for next offseason.

Why would they
be desperate when the vast majority of teams will have capspace due to the rising cap
