Aldridge finishes up his 7 meetings tomorrow, he is expected to narrow his choices down to 3 teams then do a another round of meetings.
Suns expect to know by tomorrow night if they have made the final cut down to 3 teams.

Alright, so after seeing all this fuss about what the Suns can and can not do in regards to LaMarcus Aldridge, I have decided to make a quick post under the following assumptions:
67.1M ish cap
Tyson Chandler starts at 13M
Aldridge signs for the 20.1M max
Brandon Knight waits for his contract, leaving his 8.8M cap hold in place (if I am reading the CBA faq right, it is 250% of his previous salary)
Taking notes from basketballreference here[1] while adding in the hold for Knight and Booker (at 1.773M), this leaves the Suns with close to 54.6M in salary, with none of that wonky minimum roster spot cap holds to handle with, This has been taken by Tyson Chandler.
Therefore, they would need to clear about 20M in salary completely off the books before they make the signing.
Based on all evidence, Eric Bledsoe is untouchable for this quest. So who goes?
The obvious candidate are the Morris twins, in that they can be the most impactful cap wise in bringing back picks for them. For instance, I think Detroit would be a plausible destination, and the cost of an unprotected 2016 first at least could be preferable to both sides. While the Morris twins are a talented duo, Aldridge is simply worth more. But this would still leave them 7M short and in the territory of those pesky cap hold that bump up for roster spots. Fortunately, 2 more players are all that are needed, probably PJ Tucker at his 5.5M salary and either Danny Granger or TJ Warren. Considering the depletion of the roster, Danny Granger may be forced out of Phoenix because TJ Warren has a brighter future as a starting SF. This dump is likely a Sixers dump, with the possibility of throwing in one of the two Miami firsts for a second or two from us in the future. So a team of Aldridge is possible while getting assets and not being terrible!
But then the elusive sign and trade, which would allow for a bit more wriggle room as the trade can be uneven. How much? By 5 million dollars if a team is under the tax paying cap, which the Suns are. This means a trade of the Morris twins and Danny Granger would be sufficient to bring over Aldridge, or it could be more. It depends on if Portland wants to play ball if LMA wants to leave.
So this, for reference, is how the Suns would get away with getting Aldridge. All this has to happen before Knight officially signs, mind you, or else this plan will fall apart
The Suns end of this is really interesting. It’s hard to nail down any team’s cap situation as so many deals hang in the air, but they would appear to be out of cap room after agreeing to a four-year, $52 million deal with Chandler and re-signing Brandon Knight — even if they save Knight’s contract for last. That leaves a sign-and-trade as the most realistic way to land Aldridge.
Blazers GM Neil Olshey drafted Eric Bledsoe, but the Suns aren’t interested in dealing Bledsoe, per several league sources, and the Bledsoe–Damian Lillard pairing might leave both players frustrated. But Phoenix has plenty of picks and young players, including two interesting pieces — Alex Len and Markieff Morris — who play the same positions as Chandler and Aldridge. Trading for one Morris means acquiring the other, and given that they are facing assault charges, it’s unclear how appetizing the Morris platter is to Portland.

I like ours better. Our roster screams youth, defense and potential. Our guards are better all around players and especially better defensively. Our centers are now a position of strength with the Chandler signing.
Kawhi and Green are really the only players who will be around in 2 years. Manu is 37 and may retire this summer. Parker is 33 and has lost a step. Diaw (dough-boy) is 33. Duncan is 39. Baynes doesn't compare to Chandler.
If LMA wants to compete with Curry and Lebron for the next 6 years, then the right choice is the Suns. LMA fits our team better near term and long term.

The thing about the Spurs is that even though they have some old guys that will be retiring soon (Duncan, Ginobli), they have shown to be one of, if not the, best run sports organization in the past 20 years. They're probably going to be able to retool their roster and find a way to compete. They aren't going to suddenly fall into obscurity when Duncan retires
I mean, I hate the Spurs as much as the next guy, but you can't deny their ability to put together a team and stay relevant
