Two things come to my mind...

1. Teams know Monroe is not a max contract player

2. LA thinks LaLaLand alone is going to have people willing to leave money on the table to play alongside Kobe. And they are mistaken.

Well, good luck to Monroe... but honestly, if Prizonis is the future power forward of the Knicks. If he can stretch the floor and block shots, he'd be wonderful next to Monroe. Plus, he can play Robin to Melo which is nice. I would think I would be headed there if I was him.

If Monroe doesn't get the max, I say sign him here for the 4 year max. We'd continue to be great at rebounding and have two big men with two big men that stretch the floor. Monroe can play in the second string and Dre in the first. Then sign someone like Butler at SF and we'll be good for the year.

This probably won't happen but honestly I don't think it's a bad idea.

Monroe's not coming back...he's already said he doesn't want to be somewhere where he isn't wanted and that he feels he doesn't really fit into SVG's vision.
