Yeah, I would need to think about this I guess. I wouldn't do Jabari for Lawson obviously. Not enough upside to Ty Lawson. I would have to think about Jabari for Cousins, like I said because of the knee.

But that being said, still no way in hell Lawson/Jabari for Cousins is fair for us in this crazy hypothetical.

If you're talking about either of them at 27 (two years from now for Monrow) with a year or two left on a contract its a different story. Lee is 32, Jefferson 30.

He's not a great post scorer he's just a volume one. I mean I'm impressed that you type out that volume that quick but talking your way around Monroe's D over Hibbert's is flat out hilarious. There isn't anything close to an argument that Monroe is a max guy, he's never shown any ability to make a difference. He's not even better than a guy Indiana would probably give away. Dat double/double though.

I'm not talking my "way around Monroe's D over Hibbert's" even if that statement made any sense. My post was about fit. If you're building a defense from the ground up, go with Hibbert. Unfortunately, we're not, because in general, that's just not the reality of the league. In order for Hibbert to truly excel with Milwaukee, the defensive system would likely need a complete overhaul, and for now, it's a case of "if it's really good, why break it to see if we can fix it better?" Again, this is about upside, in a perfect world, TRUTHFULLY, how much does Hibbert's defense really improve the team? Unless you're making the case that Monroe is going to completely ruin our defense (you'd be hard pressed to do so given our results this season) you're attempting to make incremental gains in an area of strength instead of improving weaknesses.

As far as your "max guy" argument, feel free to scroll up, click the "Milwaukee Bucks" in bold letters, scroll down a bit to the Middleton contract thread, and see reasoning.

Oh, also, age, core, vs. band-aid.

The longer this takes, the less likely I feel it is we get Monroe.

Philly needs money on the books, so the contracts don't hurt them. Will be interesting to see if he can play if given minutes after looking so lost as a rookie, but in erratic minutes.

This move, going after Monta, and drafting Cauly-Stein over Mudiay all scream Karl.

Draymond locked up with GSW too.

Hibbert is a nice player, but I don't think he is there mentally enough to put it together like he can. Don't really want to deal with his problems.

Middleton is a very good player, Monroe is a bog average one. Monroe also wants an opt out so he can be even more hilariously overpayed in two years. He's either also a "band-aid" or a top 5 worst contract in 2 years. Hibbert would fit the D in a similar fashion to Bogut's fit at the Warriors. Again I'm not advocating Hibbert he's just a better option than a box score stat padder.

I've never been a Monroe fan but what the hell sign me up. If this summer proves anything it's that even flawed players get super paid. **** of course I would like my favorite teams to only sign great players on good deals bit the reality is in the NBA there is more money to go around than guys who deserve it. And with the damn arena issue floating around the bucks let's spend spend spend and create some buzz around this team. I'm OK dealing with a bad contract or 2 with the Milwaukee Bucks if the alternative is handing a good cap situation to the Seattle bucks. If that happens I'll only be a suns fan and that would suck to only have a west conference team who's owned by an idiot.

Meh, I really do not like guys like Cousins. Just strikes me as a guy who fills up the stat sheet and none of it translates into wins. You put prime Dwight Howard on the Kings and I guarantee they do better than 29-53. That's how you know Cousins is not the best center in the league or close.

The only thing I regret saying was that I'd consider trading Jabari for him.

Jesus. What a horrific trade by Sacramento.

Hinkie will eventually trade the picks for future picks though so it won't matter.

Chances are the 76ers will be worse, rendering the swaps useless, unless the Kings place top 3 in a lottery (and the swap isn't lotto protected). Still, totally worth it to ask even if it doesn't happen.

Man, so risky on the surface for Sacramento. Swap right on first round picks can be crazy dangerous if things go bad for your team and then lottery balls go in your favor, but then another team can swap places with you.
