If they don't dump V and Haywood, they're going to have the lux tax of all lux taxes.

Amir and Jerebko to Boston. Gives them help in the frontcourt.

Marc Stein: ESPN sources say Tyson Chandler has agreed to a four-year deal with the Phoenix suns worth $52 million.

David Aldridge: Still think Suns are dark horse for Aldridge, but 1) they do have quality PGs, which he wants, 2) with Chandler, they have legit center.

Marc Stein: As one source sagely explains: Suns certainly have player to appeal to PORT in sign-and-trade if LaMarcus Aldridge chooses PHX: Eric Bledsoe. Blazers GM Neil Olshey drafted Bledsoe for Clips. If Aldridge springs surprise & chooses Phoenix, Suns could offer Bledsoe in sign-and-trade

Wow, wasn't expecting this storyline. Potentially:

Chandler/Len
Aldridge/Morris
Morris/Granger
Tucker/Booker
Knight/FA

Agreed. Suns should offer Len, Bledsoe and filler for Melo.

Amir Johnson finally off the Raptors. Don't think we'll be losing to them in the regular season again either

He'll help them defensively, none of Kelly, sully, or zeller are worth a damn defensively... but they are all better offensive players I think now compared to Amir... Didn't amir have injury issues this past season in TOR?

All Bird free agents. The real question is if Leonsis would extend himself to that degree of the Wizards were in the same situation.

I think not.

Interesting take I read, Raptors HAVE to overpay. NBA players dislike the market/customs etc and the tax rate is astronomical.

Carroll's effective tax rate in Toronto will be (ouch!) around 58%. Millsap in Florida (if he goes) will be around 35%.

Where are you pulling these numbers? The tax thing about Toronto is an ignorant myth. We don't even have anywhere near the highest tax bracket in the NBA.

So the kings did what I wanted to do with hilly, they used them to dump cap. We could be trying to get better while keeping the Durant dream alive but we do not seem to be doing much of that at all.

Knicks with a good signing: Afflalo for 2 years 16 million, with the 2nd year being a player option.

I dunno - Afflalo was pretty useless last season and always seems to be a guy who teams are trying to trade away. I don't see good times for the Knicks this season.

Agreed. Afflalo was really good a few years ago when he specialized as a 3&D guy. He then tried to expand his game to be a primary scorer and it worked... for about a year. After that, he lost interest in defense and teams figured him out on offense. He suddenly became an inefficient gunner with sub-par defense.

Also, looks like Dragic gave Miami a discount so they can keep Wade.

Aminu is a very effective player -- I think that's a bargain for him. Portland has done very well here IMO.

I wonder if the Clippers re-sign Doc Rivers son Austin?

Wow, Sacto pays the premium of a recent lottery pick (Stauskas) and a future pick (plus additional pick swaps) so they can dump salary to go after guys like...Monta Ellis and Rajon Rondo? Yikes!

Props to Philly for pulling that off. If we strike out on all the other bigs and go after a wing instead, I'd offer Webster+2nd for Thompson. Similar amount of guarantees for 2016, but fills a need for us and gives Philly another future pick.
