I don't see us getting Monroe at this point. If we were going to it'd be a done deal already. I'm sure we're offering the max.

Seems like he's waiting for LA to strike out on DJ and Aldridge. We've served our purpose.

At this point I'd love to land Koufos for a reasonable deal ($7M per or less) and lock up Henson if we strike out on Monroe.

What years were the pick and pick swaps in that PHI/SAC deal?

Really would rather absorb David Lee and make them pay up Looney for doing so. Find our Center next off season...

I'd rather get Monroe on a moveable max deal this year than wait until every team is flush with cash next year. Getting an impact center will be much tougher.

I was just hoping to lock someone up quickly so that we dont do something stupid when we strike out on all of our big men targets. Monroe is using us for leverage I think he wants a big market team.

There are a lot of moving parts here, me thinks. Like previously stated, Monroe could be waiting to see who goes where before him commits to anyone. He probably does want to go to a big market but if that team fails to sign anyone but him, Milwaukee could be his best option if he wants to win while working on his next payday in 2 years.

Monroe is genuinely interested. He doesn't need leverage. He'll get the max whether the Bucks give it to him or not.

What leverage? He's going to get a 3yr max and his agent has said from day 1 that he wants a PO or the 3rd year. I'm sure multiple teams have offered him that.

If Monroe truly wanted to be a Buck he would've signed sometime yesterday, using Milwaukke & Portland for leverage.

Yep. And the panic move(s) we make after we strike out could be epic. Welcome back to the Kohl era folks. Thank god we lucked into Giannis and to a lesser extent Jabari.

The guy drafts well, his decisions in FA are a little iffy and his trades are a mixed bag. Is he the best GM in the league? No. But at least he isn't a complete bucket of ass.

Intentional irony by saying the phrase "bucket of ass" in the same breath as arguing that Hammonds drafts well?

If every team is offering him the same max deal, there would be no need to use a team as leverage.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

And what "panic moves" have the Bucks made since the new ownership took over? Why would you assume this?

Or the contract the Bucks offered isn't to his liking.

I assume we did offer him the 4 yr max with no opt out and he wants an opt out

Marc Stein on Mike and Mike saying that we really wanted Chandler and we set his contract and Phoenix matched our offer.

Scary we were willing to give that deal to Chandler.

He also said we have a real shot at landing Monroe.

Highly doubt we offered anything different than what he wants. Dude is just thinking about what he wants to do. It has been 1 day.

Maybe it's a big life decision and he wants to take a little bit of time to think about it?

The Bucks need to pursue Koufos. He may not be a sexy as Monroe, but his shot chart is slight better and he could be had for less money.
