Re: Free Agency Thread -Non Monroe FA talk
@HoopsRumors: #Knicks didn't offer max to Monroe, per @JeffZillgitt. He's #Bucks-bound, @WojYahooNBA says: http://t.co/e5rtQTUBhw http://t.co/71WQAt5NxH
I guess not everyone did offer the max

@WojYahooNBA: Monroe will sign a three year deal, with a player option on the third year, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Translation: Hey Knicks ... I'm reaaaaalllly serious about the Bucks and Blazers. Like really reaaalllly reaaaaallllllly serious.
Fail... fail... fail.
Fail.
Well, considering we offered him exactly what he wanted (max deal for 3 years with a player option in the last year) and the Knicks weren't even offering him the max, I was probably closer to right.

It will be interesting to see what Bucks if he opts out, how much would a max salary be for him if he opts out before 3rd year?

Rolo will be too expensive. Koufos or KOQ are more realistic targets. I would still like to trade Bayless and Zaza to clear enough cap space to sign one of the two aforementioned big men.

Kidd just got like 5 players over the past year that he wanted. He also likes to play 10-man deep. Not sure who they would like to trade that has any value. I don't think a trade happens but wouldn't be shocked if MCW, Duds, or Mayo get traded. For the value of Zaza, I would rather keep him as an emergency center.

ZaZa seems like the easy choice, but I could see Henson going if they got a future 1st rd pick. I think Plumlee sticks as a end of a bench guy, but obviously he's a candidate. Mayo or Bayless could get shipped out yet.
In no real particular order...
MCW/Vasquez/Ennis
Middleton/Mayo/Bayless/Vaughn
Giannis/Inglis
Parker*/Henson/Dudley/JOB
Monroe/ZaZa/Plumlee
*When Available

I think O'Quinn will cost the entire MLE is not a tad more to pry him away from the Magic. Biyombo would be an option for the MLE. Not sure if we can still pull off a trade with Cleveland (Mayo and Bayless for Haywood) but if so, we can sign KOQ or Koufos (3yrs/$21M and Gerald Green for the MLE (2yrs/$12M).

My understanding is that MLE doesn't apply to the Bucks since we had cap space. It's an exception for teams that don't have cap space.

We won't have any cap space once we sign both Monroe and Middleton next week.

My hope is they move a couple pieces for that Haywood contract. Zaza and Mayo come to mind.

4/$60. The question is which team that is shut out in FA that gives it to him.
An undercovered story line is how badly the Blazers imploded. "IF" it turns out that LMA, Rolo, Afflalo and Wes Matthews all leave that team....good lord. That may be the biggest implosion in league history. Paging Epi.
