4/$60. The question is which team that is shut out in FA that gives it to him.

An undercovered story line is how badly the Blazers imploded. "IF" it turns out that LMA, Rolo, Afflalo and Wes Matthews all leave that team....good lord. That may be the biggest implosion in league history. Paging Epi.

Could be somewhat intentional. At center, the reason they won't give Lopez big money might be because of Myers Leonard. This past year, he was a 50/40/90 guy at center as a good rebounder. Him and Plume are their future front court, and Leonard has the shooting ability of LMA potential in terms of stretching the floor efficiently, not as good but still fills that role, and Mason Plumlee replaces Lopez's hustle.

At SG, they also spent a relatively high pick on McCollum, who has been stuck behind a lot of players. But what he did in the playoffs as well as to close out the season, they probably are looking to give him a chance.

I mean, at some point, the Blazers were stuck in that no mans land. Perennially an average seed in the West, no real upside to win a championship. They had a bunch of young pieces. It doesn't seem like a pure impolision as well as a calculate move to get younger. If you're stuck on a treadmill, even as a playoff team, It might be time to try and move on.

Overall though, they could still be solid team next year.

PG: Damian Lillard
SG: McCollum
SF: ?
PF: Plumlee
C: Leonard

Thats a lineup with 3 shooters already. Aminu plays good defense, so he will get a large portion on minutes at SF. Two legit big men, and Aminu can play small ball 4 so he will get minutes there. Overall, in terms of "going young," Id still say the Blazers have a ton of upside as a young team. I think Leonard and McCollum could be a lot better than what people expect.

Marshall isn't getting anywhere near the MLE. Are you kidding? He wouldn't get it if he was healthy. Coming off an acl he's getting a million bucks, if that.

Fail... fail... fail.

Fail.

Well, considering we offered him exactly what he wanted (max deal for 3 years with a player option in the last year) and the Knicks weren't even offering him the max, I was probably closer to right.

Nah.. still wrong, lol.

Free agent Kendall Marshall recovering well from ACL injury, expects to be ready for training camp

Free-agent guard Kendall Marshall has made rapid improvement on the rehabilitation of his torn anterior cruciate ligament and expects to be ready for NBA training camps in October.

NBA executives tell Yahoo Sports that Marshall's most recent medical reports indicate that, barring any setbacks, he will be ready to return for the start of training camps in October.

"The rehab has been going great," Marshall told Yahoo Sports by phone from Chapel Hill, N.C., where he's working out at the University of North Carolina. "I've started to do close-out drills and changes of direction. We've been aggressive with the rehab and I'll be ready when training camps open.
"With this injury, I know some guys have had setbacks, deal with tendinitis, and I haven't had any of that. It's been a smooth process. By the time August and September comes, I'll be getting fully ready for the season."

Marshall, 23, tore his right ACL on Jan. 15 for the Bucks and had surgery in early February, ending what had been a promising start to the season for him. Marshall had become an important part of Milwaukee's rapid ascent in the Eastern Conference, playing productive minutes behind Brandon Knight at point guard. Teams say they've been impressed with the analytics of Marshall's impact on the Bucks lineup a year ago – the difference with him on versus off the floor.

We have 17 guys counting Gutierrez. 15 is max roster size.

Monroe
Pachulia
Plumlee
Henson
JOB

Giannis
Parker
Inglis
Dudley

Middleton
Mayo
Vaughn
Bayless

MCW
Vasquez
Ennis
Gutierrez (NG)

We definitely need some 3-1. 2-1, or 1-0 deals to go down if we want to think about Marshall. I think with bringing in Vasquez, it becomes even more unlikely. JOB, Gutierrez (cut), and Bayless are the immediate dumps for me. I'd be find giving them away for future considerations. My guess is that we don't pick up Marshall, cut Gutierrez and trade JOB.

I agree, I think I like Monroe better than Lopez or Chandler because his experience at PF will allow him and Henson to play together, hopefully.

Sonny Weems is the final piece I'd target. Move Plumlee somewhere, waive JOB & acquaint Ennis with Fort Wayne. Love our depth & potential lineup combos.

MCW, GV, Bayless, Ennis
Middleton, Mayo, Vaughn
Giannis, Weems, Inglis
Jabari, Dudley
Monroe, Henson, Zaza

Ship out Ennis, Zaza, Bayless, and JOB.

Sign Kendall Marshall and a backup PF.

We're going to need Zaza at some point this season. Monroe can play with Henson at times. Pachulia is a fantastic 4th big.

If we got O'Quinn and Marshall that'd be awesome. I'd ship Plums and Ennis for any second rounder a team would give us, I might even give up a second rounder to dump Bayless or Zaza. JOB you can just cut.

Same here for me, exactly, and bringing in Marshall.

I'd keep Mayo unless we got something of actual value for him - I like him as a culture fit and team fit. He was the only guy who stood up for himself and his teammates in the playoffs when the Bulls were bullying us, and he can shoot the rock. Dudley and Zaza are also really good vet/team guys, and I think we should keep both of them. Their value is more than what they provide on the court. Marshall I like a lot as a reserve PG and also his culture/team fit.
