All quite on the Woj front regarding LMA. Is he narrowing it down to three teams tonight? He already rejected Toronto and meeting with the Knicks was just a formality. So its probably PHX,SA,PDX although I see his return quite unlikely since he's already burnt that bridge

Tucker, Marcus Morris and Reggie Bullock plus Cleveland's 1st rounder next, and a Suns future 1st rounder in 2016 or 2017, done and done.
Still need to add more salary. Granger, Goodwin, McNeal, Leuer all need to go to get to 15-17 mill
Why.............they have a $5 million trade exception from the Dragic deal, that and the aforementioned players get them into striking distance. The easiest thing would be to do a S&T with Portland if they were willing.

I just don't see the Rockets being able to clear the cap room for em. And Aldridge didn't like being second fiddle to Lillard, why would he want to be 3rd to Harden/Dwight. Also, their egos are huge. LaMarcus seems more down to earth and humble. Honestly, whenever I watch him play I hardly ever see him complain to the refs.

Nah. Not if we're operating above the cap and it's a S&T. Need just 9-10 mil in that case.
Only need to clear another 4-6 if no S&T and trying to sign him outright. Would need to bundle Granger and others in that scenario, or swap Kieff for PJ.

C'mon son. That's ridiculous.
Please tell me how this is ridiculous. You lose Splittler, Baynes and possibly Manu. TD, Parker are a year older now. They finished 6th last year. They are not in the East. The bottom teams are getting better, including us.

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 2: The Hunt for a Blazer Continues!
Tucker and the 1-2 million guys should be easy to unload. Boston maybe given the connection..they could use a guy like Tucker too.
I don't know who would want Marcus, but his contract isn't that bad.
I guess if we can't get Aldridge, they will perhaps want to keep everyone unless they wanted to go after Ed Davis for PF depth and trade some of those younger guys or Tucker.

Maybe Tucker was unable to make the trip.SkinnyOMiller wrote:bwgood77 wrote:MrMiyagi wrote:I'm not saying we get him, I'm asking about his place with the Knicks if Phil wants Melo at the 4
Well he could eventually play with Melo or with a center or with both. That is what he said before the draft. I quoted it in one of the threads.
You have to have at least a three man rotation at the bigs and KP is unlikely to be ready to start any time soon. I still wouldn't mind getting him, especially if we need to send out Bledsoe to get LaMarcus.
I wish the cap had the big jump this year.
I don't think Bledsoe is going anywhere if LMA chose the Suns, that would be like the ultimate dick move, having him at the recruitment pitch and then sending him away, would instantly sour the LMA-Suns relationship.
P.J. Tucker, having played with LMA in college, should have been at the recruitment pitch, that he wasn't speaks volumes to me. He's a goner along with the lesser Morris along with some picks thrown in if LMA were to choose Phoenix......still unlikely.
My guess is the Suns move Morrii and picks to Blazers or Mavs in S&T.

http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2015/07/trail_blazers_assistant_coach_kim_hughes_says_lama.html
That's the revelation made by assistant coach Kim Hughes in a recent interview with an Indiana TV station, a few hours before the start of free agency.
"Well, people don't realize we just went young," Hughes tells WTHI of Terre Haute, Indiana. "We didn't publicize it, but we lost LaMarcus Aldridge. It hasn't been declared yet, but I'm sure he won't come back. We will go young."
Hughes, who has been the Blazers' big-man coach for three seasons, was in Robinson, Illinois, to take part in a camp given by Trail Blazers big man Meyers Leonard. The interviewer first spoke to Leonard about his role on the Blazers, then followed with Hughes, who made the revelation while speaking about an anticipated larger role for Leonard.

I'm not sure how you come up with 4-6. You mean 4-6 in addition to the twins and Tucker?

Bledsoe/Ish/Goodwin
Knight/Booker
Tucker/Warren
LMA/West
Chandler/Len
Seems like a pretty decent team if you ask me. Wouldn't be as strong with Amare but still pretty good too.
I don't see how we get LMA and Chandler without giving up Tucker and the twins. We may even have to ship Len.
Double sign and trade with Portland.
Earl Barron (or Green/Thornton) at $15M/1year + picks for LaMarcus. Easy.

Trade exception cant be stacked on top of players salaries. Exceptions can only be used by themselves

C'mon now..............
Trading him knocks off about $6 mil on the cap, still a reasonable amount that any number of teams could be willing to take on.

Nope. This was posted a few pages back, and should probably be posted every few pages, but this is a necessary read:
http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2015/7/2/8881977/phoenix-suns-chandler-aldridge-cap-magic
Two routes: we either clear the capspace to sign both of them outright, or we do sign and trades.
Either way, 15-17 milllion in salaries need to go OUT from our side. That's Morris twins(13) + filler.

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 2: The Hunt for a Blazer Continues!
Okay guys, got a question. Was gonna make a new thread, but eff it.
Say we don't get Aldridge. There is no way that the twins haven't heard the news of us trying to get em. Which means, they probably knew they were on the chopping block had it happened. You think they'll be disgruntled playing for us? You know these guys get mad about everything, lol.

Dave King wrote:Option A: "Over the cap": Chandler comes in a sign-and-trade from Dallas, with $6+ million going back to Dallas. Then Aldridge can be had in a sign-and-trade from Portland, with another $10+ million going back to them.
Option B: "Under the cap": Chandler comes to the Suns via cap room, sending nothing to Dallas. As a result, any acquisition of talent after that would have include equal-to-greater salary matching up to the $69.1 million cap. Depending on Knight and Chandler's first year salaries, and a release of McNeal, that could mean $15+ million in salaries going out.
The Suns could also pre-empt all this with a major salary dump, like Sacramento just did with Philadephia to clear mondo cap room. Again, this would require about $15 million MORE going out than coming back.
Either way, to bring in both Chandler and Aldridge would require the Suns to send out - to somebody - $15-17 million in salary.
http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2015/7/2/8881977/phoenix-suns-chandler-aldridge-cap-magic
We would only need to send out 10 mill to PDX, but we'd still need to send ~5-6 mill to DAL in a sign and trade

Sure it can, not in a one-on-one trade but if you involve a third team in a deal you can essentially do just that, it becomes more complicated but it has happened before.

Yeah but look at Kevin Love re-signing with the Cavs knowing that he and LeBrick are not the best of friends. I think its all about winning a championship for these guys. I would love him in a Suns' uniform but wouldn't be surprised seeing him in Houston.
