One more stat: Kanter registered a -3.88 DRPM this season, which ranked him 469th out of 474 total players.

By putting this here ,*then you know* that the guards in front of him Trey Burke (Utah's PG) was *441* out of total players and that Alec Burks (Utah's SG) was *435* out of total players.I've told you twice the Utah Guards sucked at defense .....but yet you still blame only Kanter ,when Kanter was traded Dante Exum (*201*)took over at PG and Alec Burks got hurt and was replaced by Rodney Hood (*189*)
Gobert was magnificent but he didn't have Trey Burke or Alec Burks in front of him like Kanter did ,he had the 6'6" Exum and 6'8" Hood ,big difference.....makes a big difference in who you're playing with in team defense

So many good people on this team. I hope Kanter matures into one of them.

Looks like Monroe just made Kanter get the max.

Should've struck a deal sooner....

If there were any way to get a replacement I'd say let him walk, but there isn't.

Monroe was always going to get the max. The fact that the Knicks wouldn't offer it to Monroe means there is no way they offer it to Kanter. Monroe getting the max from the Bucks actually hurts Kanter's value because they were the team that a lot of people thought was stupid enough to offer Kanter the max.

The Knicks are considering making an offer to restricted free agent Enes Kanter, according to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News.

he only way Kanter leaves is if he is signed and traded.

I still don't trust Isola, but agree on the sign and trade, and I think they match anything, even though I don't know I'd agree.

This. With Kanter it always was about what other teams would offer. What other teams are out there that might make an offer? Knicks and Lakers?

Kanter thoughts...just like every other Presti negotiation Sam has his mind on a price. Difference this time...he doesn't have an expiration cause he doesn't really care if Kanter signs a max else where...Thunder will match. There is no way for the Thunder to get an asset like this so they wrap Kanter up.

1. Knowing this may make other teams wary of signing Kanter cause they will wrap up their cap space for a few days in a player that Thunder will match (wrapping up space may hinder their shot at another player)
2. Kanters contract max or not will be a very nice trade piece in the future.
3. Thunder want to sign Kanter long term because of 1 above but also because they are trying to put a long term team together to lay a complete, long term team at KDs feet next summer.

Frank Isola is an idiot and a Knicks/Yankees homer. He's almost as bad as another moron Bill Plaschke (Lakers/Dodgers homer).

Dallas might if they lose out on Jordan. Portland might make an offer. I'm not sure who else would be looking for a scoring big at this point.

If PHX gets LMA, they've got a great team, legitimate contender to me.

There is no doubt Kanter is worth the max offensively but he cant ignore the defensive issues. Tleikheens argument that Kanter's DRPM score was because he had poor guards in from of him may be a fair point but only at the margin. His defense is awful and the eye test backs up what the stats tell us. Not withstanding all of that Presti should sign him. If Kanter is committed and happy in the environment and his defense improves then he will be a steal, if it doesn't he has a starting caliber center in Adams as pretty good insurance for at least the next 2 years. I don't see much risk in that.

Spurs if they miss on LMA? They have no centers on roster. Could absorb Hibbert or sign Lopez or Koufos, but they're banking a lot on signing Aldridge. Duncan's one of the few PFs you could hide Kanter with.

They know as well as any team that Thunder have to match any offer so they will just be holding up some cap for a few days.

Gasol is also still out there, although I don't think I've heard any rumors about him for some reason. I'd think the Spurs, Mavs, Lakers and Knicks would be going after him.

He won't give meetings, he's only met w/ Memphis. Rumored deal around 5/100 mil.
