I can understand frustration with non-guaranteed contracts, but that's a known fact when guys enter into contracts, and their agents should be accounting for it. Comparing pure salary numbers between the two sports is silly. A single b-ball player can have dramatically more impact than any NFL player, even a QB. One NBA player constitutes 20% of a team's presence on the "field." One NFL player constitutes 4.5%.

The other issue is that an NBA roster limit is 15, MLB is 25, and the NFL is 53 which means you have a lot more people to pay in the NFL.
Not to mention there are far fewer NFL games compared to other leagues.
I do sympathize with the players to a certain extent considering they can be cut at a drop of a hat for not performing but can't do squat if they out perform a contract but I'm still of the mindset of you know what you're signing up for when you choose to pursue a career in football.

Exactly.
You got 13-15 players on a roster and 53 in the NFL.
The money gets spread around more and NFL players are more replaceable. I don't envy the toll playing in the NFL takes on their body and hope they have money saved up to take care of their medical needs from playing in the NFL later in life.
In the end, they should all save well and feel fortunate they see money in a few years that many of us will not see in our lifetimes.
