Markieff is a really solid player locked up on a decent deal, they'll probably want way more than just a straight salary dump.

Not really much of a Suns fan, but would rather they get LMA than the Spurs. Spread the wealth.
I still think it's a long shot but yesterday I would have said no shot so who knows. But as I said this move has more than one purpose, helps clear enough room for the lma chase, clears playing time for Warren who they really like, and they were just sick of the Morris brothers attitude and felt it wasn't good with the other young guys on the team.

I'd love Markieff on our team but I'm assuming that the Suns would trade him to Portland in a sign and trade for Aldridge

Kings didn't get Ellis? What were they doing last night?

Morris is owed $8M per through 2019. don't know if it's worth it.

That's pretty much a steal.

yeah the assumption here in Phoenix is they would first try and get an asset (late 1st or something) from a team with space to absorb him. If that doesn't work they would offer him to either Portland or Dallas in a sign and trade for chandler or lma.

Future prospects. He wants a championship. When Duncan leaves, how much will that affect his chances? Clearly a lot in his mind.

Bledsoe and Knight were part of the meeting to bring Aldridge in. That's pretty important in the grand scheme in terms of saying here's two young guys were building around. SA is ready to win now, but that whole dynamic could change as soon as Duncan leaves, whether Popovich leaves with him. It could come down to Bledsoe + Knight vs Leonard

I would offer up Henson and a future pick for Markieff Morris and then look to dump Bayless for a future 2nd rounder to fit him under the cap. This clears $29M from the Suns books

PG - MCW, Vasquez, Ennis
SG - Middleton, Mayo, Vaughn
SF - Giannis, Dudley, Inglis
PF - Parker, Morris, JOB
C - Monroe, Zaza, Plumlee

they are also selling that with chandler and len he would NEVER have to play center. And trying to sell that if he wins in Phoenix he would be a god here where as he'd always be in the shadow of past champs in sa. Not sure if it will work but that's what they are selling.

Plus phoenix is a nice place to live in the winter and the club scene in Scottsdale is pretty fun :)

I'm guessing Phoenix will send Markieff Morris and Tucker to Portland for LMA in a S&T. Portland actually gets a decent haul for LMA if this happens.

Still think Aldridge ends up with the Spurs.

Early this morning - page 30

eagle13 wrote:We will sign Monroe.

Leverage and domino things are not relevant in this situation. Monroe's choices - with contract and money identical - He said in interview his agent said consider carefully what's important - winning? where u live? team-mates or coaches?

where u live - Monroe never complained about cold in Detroit or ever brought it up now
coach - we have an advantage there with Kidd
team-mates - mix of young & old guys who have chemistry and no egos'
winning - we did more of that than Knix and Lakers already

AND

Portland w/o LMA and Matthews and Batum? No winning there.

Knicks = loosers for years - Carmello getting old - if Monroe said yes Knix would jump - Knix are not waiting for anybody over anybody else - they are waiting for anybody at all-

Lakers - suck and Kobe ties up too much $

Suns - got Chandler

Rockets - reports are they will only clear cap space for LMA

I only see two threats

Clippers - ID DJ goes elsewhere

Spurs - IF they don't get LMA

Kings trade Nick Stauskas, Landry, and Jason Thompson to Philly for cap space. Huh.

Who is left for them to sign? Rondo?

LOL at sending Byron Scott to try and talk a free agent into a reason he should sign there.

Rondo / Gay / Cousins.

Karl will never want to coach in the NBA again.
