I'd have to think Lamarcus would still be hesitant to go to the Lakers, they don't have any center depth either. He turned down a meeting with NY for that very reason.

Knicks meeting was cancelled once it became clear NY wanted Aldridge to play center, something he is adamant against doing, per source.

Yeah, I didn't think that would work since Phil said he wanted Melo to play the 4.

just easier that way. tucker stays the starter at the 3.

i guess you could trade tucker + filler but markieff would be insufferable.

Yep ... Kief is already bitter about his brother being traded. Why keep a player that does stupid things (like arguing with refs, techs, and felonies) around? Better to cut bait and run.

Because he's a lot more talented than Tucker and was one of the most clutch shooters around the league last year. Easy 6th man of the year candidate. Clears time for Warren. It's a no brainer to me on which one goes. Tucker did a lot of stupid stuff last year too-- DUI, missing bus twice, TO's, cheating on wife, etc.

Still think San Antonio is the front runner but for the first time I really believe the suns have a legit shot. Crazy

LaMarcus Aldridge's meeting with Miami tonight will be a dinner with Pat Riley, sources say

We're not getting any resolution until tomorrow at the earliest. I'm out.

The more time passes, the better it is. The Spurs were the slam dunk favorites to begin with. So he must really be doubting that move.

Nothing to indicate that LMA has agreed to meet with Miami, only that they want to meet with him. They are a longshot at best IMO.

I was going by this tweet:

David Aldridge ‏@daldridgetnt · 15m15 minutes ago
Aldridge is, as Yahoo! reported, meeting a second time with the Lakers this afternoon, & will be meeting with Pat Riley in L.A., per source.

Meh. Sounds to me like a Hail Mary on Riley's part just to say that he left no stone unturned.

Or he doesn't want Pop to pass him up in the "rings" as coach so he will say "hey, go to Phoenix..it looks like a much better situation for you".

Lakers at this point are kind of like the former Prom Queen who now works career retail thinking she is still hotstuff /hanging her branded laurels on a bygone storied past. Just gotta politely say no and gently put down their inflated self-image.

I don't see how it's possible for the Heat to get him? S&T Deng? Yeah right.

SUNS have better offers. Riley just needs someone to eat dinner with tonight.

It SA and Phoenix. I am convinced. If it was not for Earl Watson and Tyson Chandler he would be a Spur right now. Props to McD for legitimately having us in it regardless. Also for signing Chandler and moving Marcus without giving up any picks.

Even if we fail to net Aldridge you absolutely have to give McDonough credit, he has cleaned up the lineup in a big way.

Yes getting rid of marcus morris, getting rid of old Danny Granger, and moving Bullock without giving up picks in fact getting a 2nd round pick back is awesome.

Having Chandler as the piece is worth the gamble.

We unloaded the glut at the 3 spot gone are Green, Granger, Morris and Bullock.
Now it's time for Warren and Tucker

We could move Tucker ultimately in the S&T for Chandler and play Booker at the 3 and Goodwin at the 2

Reports are Ish Smith as a possible signing as backup Pg wouldn't be too bad.

Now we gotta move Markieff or Tuck to the Mavs/Blazers and get our guy Aldridge let's make it happen

Honestly, if our offseason is over and we don't get Aldridge, I'm pretty happy with adding a vet big to give us leadership, defense and insurance for Len injury (and Len is insurance for Aldridge injury).

No more Marcus Morris opening up time for Warren.

Adding the best shooter in the draft.

Aldridge would just be the best gravy ever.

Seriously, This was suppose to be Spurs, over and done with, why even try. But then here Come McStunna coming in flexing his guns, and got LMA saying:

Yes.
We didn't need Bullock / Granger...they are " end of the bench" players in a position where we have one big time player in the making ( Warren) and one good role player with a defensive mentality ( Tucker).
Marcus is an OK player, but his personality is really bad for a team chemistry. He is a decent scorer and his contract is fair, but he doesn't know how to control his emotions and we are set at SF with Warren and Tucker. Even Booker can play some minutes at that position on small ball lineups.
Great trade by McDonough. T.J. Warren is the real deal and he will make a big step next season.
