I enjoyed his game intensity. He deserves that contract. We are really in need of a center now. We technically only have bobby Sacre right now.
Russell Sacre pick and roll will be deadly.

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;

Damn, that's brutal. I'm way more bummed out about him leaving than LMA not wanting to join us...And to be honest, with the contracts being given out right now, 3/20 is not that big of a deal.

Not a good look for the Lakers.
That's a great deal for Portland.

Ed, you're becoming such a journeyman. And playing for all my teams, if you sort of include the Grizzlies as Vancouver holdovers, and the fact that I don't really watch Portland, but they're the closest NBA city to me.
Always a fan. Money well deserved.

I would have kept him for that deal. Even for something more than that. Sad to see him go.

Thank you for the memories Ed Davis (He Gone)
Well, with current cap, that's cheap contract
I don't think i wanna him to play as 5, but he is a good fit next to centers like Okafor, Al Jefferson.

Re: Thank you for the memories Ed Davis (He Gone)
“They wanted me to come back,” Davis said of the Lakers in a phone interview with Los Angeles News Group. “But I felt like this was the right decision for me. I didn’t really want to wait around. I was comfortable with everything there. I wanted to go back. Nothing went bad or anything.”
“I think that played a big part of it,” Davis said. “They want to have that cap space open for one of those guys. I felt Portland would help me with my career down the road. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.”
“No matter who is there, I’m going to fight every day for playing time. I’m confident in myself,” Davis said. “I’m going to find a way I’m on the court. I’m not worried about what they’re doing. I’m just focused on myself on how I can help the team and get better.”
“They gave me the opportunity to play and contribute,” Davis said of the Lakers. “They gave me a fair shot from day one. I have nothing but love for guys over there, especially with coach Scott and Mitch Kupchak. But this was a decision I had to make. I wish them all the success and the best. They were nothing but great to me with all the coaches and all the players. So I definitely enjoyed my time playing for the Lakers and I want to thank the fans for for all of their support.”
All of which led Davis to sound both sentimental and joyful as he reflected on his recent past and looked ahead to his immediate future.
“I wanted to come back,” Davis said. “But I had to make this decision.”

Not sad to see him go but I respect his professionalism and work ethic while he was here. Lakers should have signed him to a 2 year contract last off season. Hopefully they move on from these idiotic 1 years contracts.

Re: Thank you for the memories Ed Davis (He Gone)
He came in cheap on a year that didn't matter. On a team contending for the playoffs, I think he will make a difference given his role. Maybe we'll trade for him if it doesn't work out for him in Portland down the road and when the cap is higher.
I hope Portland doesn't give him the Steve Blake treatment.
