Here again:
Kaiser30 wrote:Just read a Grantland article about Thomas Robinson, thought it was worth sharing:

Some key points are that he is disappointed about how he was treated in the NBA so far, doesn't care about money, seems to have a good work ethic and wants to prove himself.

Highly recommend it to everyone who wants to get to know more about Robinson's early life, struggles and NBA journey so far.

Should probably close this until we're 100% sure Sixers don't troll us again.

He kind of was my guy too. Had he dropped a later spot to Portland, I would've been even more angry at the time. Sucks for Portland for settling on a Rookie Of The Year and 2x NBA All-Star. :(

Pretty much the same reaction to the Larkin signing. Will bring much needed rebounding and is still young. Would have preferred to role with Cliff and use this cash on a three point threat.

Great signing for you guys, he's pretty much Tristan Thompson without the exposure on a much much cheaper deal. He was great for us, but we didn't have any room for him anymore.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

We can still do that.

Good news on contract. Part of me would still rather role with Cliff this year, but best for winning is Robinson.

We're getting both. Unless Alexander gets injured in SL or something.

I'm happy about this. Probably won't make too much of a difference but it feels good to get some vindication.

Now we just need to get some shooters and I'll feel good about sneaking into the playoffs.

Watch him be a 12/10 player on 25 mph. Such a sick signing

There is pretty much a zero chance of Alexander making the team now unless some sort of legendary summer league performance. Don't think Robinson will do a terrible job at the minimum, just would rather see roster spot go to veteran center. Roster not done either I'd assume.

I just think we are trying to get as much talent as we can so if things don't pan out to the perception to these players we have a back up for those players

So there is a chance we they are going to stay they are just a secondary option for the roster

Nets view Robinson as a Center. He's Plumlee's replacement. Cliff still can earn himself a spot at PF.

Well.. the thing is philosophies change in a yearly basis. It will all depends on who won that year. For example, when the celtics won with KG, Pierce, Allen, Rondo. The idea of a super team was born. When the mavs won, the idea of stacking your team with tier 2-3 players can become a winning formula. When the heat were winning without a center, teams started rebuild against wing players and we try to build a twin tower style of team to against them. Now that the Warriors won, the fact that draymond green was able to play center 60% of the game. IMO teams now believe you are capable of winning with only one big.

However, in our case I think we are still going to play T-Rob at the 4 and maybe see playing time at the 5 sometimes. But I can see us going big with D-Will, RHJ, Thad, T-Rob, Lopez as our starting line up.

Gotta admire the fact that Thomas Robinson really wanted to play for the Nets. Even before he got drafted (when his stock was actually high), he wanted to get drafted by the Nets. Then before Philly picked him up off waivers, he wanted to sign with the Nets. And now after becoming a UFA, he finally gets to sign with the Nets. He had a pretty solid stretch for Philly, even though it wasn't many games, but it was still his best play in the NBA yet. Hopefully here in BK, he can build on that.

Yeah, gotta love a player that wants to be here in Brooklyn and rep the Nets. Plus for the min, no matter what I can't be angry. I think he's going to do everything he can to carve out a place. I think he can big a HUGE plus off the bench with high energy, defense and rebounding.

I'm really happy that we're getting more hungry younger guys who want to push this organization forward. Even if he falls short, you can't help but cheer TRob on
