We need to see what Marco Bellinelli is asking for.

He was cheap last year.

Don't really need any more SG's though

when you can shoot like that, who cares if he's an SG?

Anyone advocating for Nenê clearly hasn't watched him recently. He's washed up and has a bad attitude.

anyone think we'll look at javale mcgee? I know he's a totally bone head sometimes and scares me to think about him on a team with lance but he's got a similar skill set as DJ. Wonder if Doc could show him what he did for DJ's career and get him to buy in for a one year vet min?

i think we will and i think we have to.

fwiw i always thought mcgee was more talented than jordan. i don't see how he's gonna turn it all around in one year after not even being looked at last year, but if he can give us even some of what jordan gave us we can be highly competitive next year. that said, it's a pretty big if.

anyway, at this point i think our best chance at a championship for the next year requires this:

1. somehow sign david west for a year with whatever's left of our newfound MLE (yay for small things)
2. grab mcgee
3. grab caron butler
4. do that jamal/kosta trade

having west/cp3/butler/pierce pretty much ensure that lance/mcgee can reach their short term potential for us over a year and there's virtually no way they can get out of line.

@ramonashelburne
Since Clippers have such financial limitations, also keep an eye on JaVale McGee as a Doc Rivers reclamation project
Notes: Rookie Rudy Gay twisted his left ankle trying to guard McGrady late in the third quarter and limped to the bench. He returned with 5:51 left, then returned to the bench about a minute later - http://www.nba.com/games/20061231/MEMHOU/recap.html

I dont think we should be looking to keep adding veterans, what for? So we can win 50 games instead of 45 and get swept by the 2nd seed instead of the first? Rather get long shot undervalued young guys and make them look good alongside Paul/Griffin/Pierce, then try to get some value off them. Thats the only way we can add value to the roster. Free agency isnt gonna give us anything of note next year. Its delusional to think Durant or Horford are gonna leave winning teams with smart management to come here of all places.

Of course, after saying that I realise what Doc is gonna do is exactly that, signing more washed up veterans and give up more future assets for a desperate attempt at the 6th seed.

Clippers are in win-now mode. Cp3 can't have any good years left on those knees.

Thank You. Adding more and more veterans is a panic move. Get over it. We aren't going to be champions next year.

We need to focus on not missing in the 2016 draft, getting back into the 2017 draft, getting younger and finding players that can build some value in this roster.
After that, we need to focus on extending Blake and how CP is going to finish his career.

at this point, I'm just hoping we win enough next year to make the 1-8.
I want to keep the playoff streak in tact while we build the roster back up. But NO MORE panic moves. Stop being a prisoner of CP's birth certificate.

Champions don't panic.
They develop Danny Green, Draft Kawhi Leonard etc. etc.

Bro-Science…not a doctor…

As far as I know he's only had 1 meniscus surgery and he's had part of it removed….not all of it. He's not bone on bone.
I'm not completely worried about his knees. That's probably going to be his problem going into his 40s or 50s, not ours.

this team is officially in trouble. the lance deal was awful. jamal will have to go to get someone at center, then we have a non scoring bench. should have never made any deals until dj decided. I hope somebody had a b plan in place. I also now think maybe they did not care if he left. not one player at the meeting. why?

Blake Griffin is still young and his window is huge. Chris Paul still has heaps of years as well since his game is based on IQ not athleticism. Let's rebuild around those two guys. We don't have to go into full rebuild mode but lets not take on any bad contracts just because we think we are one contract away from contending.
