Dr. Buss should have hired West back when we were done with Phil.

Lakers are so damn "dramatic".

Also, Jerry West's leaving was quite ominous at the time.

They could use him now ...

So essentially what Jeannie is saying is that there's no real incentive to make this team better for her or mitch? Neither of their jobs are in jeopardy no matter what and they both despise working with Jim Buss. What a joke.

The sooner Jim steps down the sooner we'll be back to building a championship squad. The guy is obviously in over his head as lead dog. He did a fine job as a "yes" man while his dad and his dad's men handled the organization. Since he's been promoted to making the decisions on his own, the team has gone to ****. Look around the league at other teams with horrible owners, they're the ones that suck every year and get ripped by fans and media. Having a owner who knows what he's doing, meaning one who will hire the right people, makes all the difference in professional sports.

Are any other owners or presidents going around commenting on execs getting fired in the middle of the free agency hunt?

Totally agree... Between the 2 of them. I think Jeanie makes us look more like a clown show than Jim. She's much more likeable, but she's very reactionary at times, which makes her seem a little flighty.
It was a really lame answer to that question. No need to address it right now. Just laugh and say "Talk to me in 2 years."

I think Jim needs to hire a president of BBall Ops AND Jeanie needs to hire a new Business/Marketing person.

Does anyone think that this has a chance to blow up in the lakers' faces? It almost sounds like a ticking time bomb. Say the lakers aren't competitive over the next couple years (from the looks of it right now they wont make the playoffs). Come 2017, they sign a couple big name free agents before the season. What does that mean? We all know first hand that a roster on paper doesn't translate into a championship team. I have a feeling things will get really messy. I think it might be time at that point to just sell the team. Plus the fact that right now Jeannie is the one going on record speaking for her brother. Are people really holding Jim to his word, or will they 'give him one more season.' if the roster on paper looks competitive? By competitive I am guessing its championship or bust? Not a borderline playoff team. That is also some-what of a gray area.

Well that's one way not to attract marquee free agents, let them know that your decrepit owner and president will be around for another three years minimum. Have some damn pride and step down already, this franchise isn't making any strides while you're calling the shots. Sick of hearing the same thing year in and year out.

Not sure if this will really happen, but I respect Jeanie for saying it. It may look/sound ugly, but the situation with the team looks ugly enough that I think some accountability at the top is a good start.
