Hoops Hype tweeting that Murray is hoping to be starting PG for PanAms, and that Ejim turned down Summer League for PanAms.

Yesterday (before Stauskas trade) they tweeted that Stauskas' agent said he (and Nicholson) would be on PanAm team (even though Stauskas was listed on Sacramento summer league roster).

NBA.com has the following Canadians as being on summer league rosters:
Bachnyski
Birch
Ejim
Scrubb
Walker

This list is undoubtedly incomplete (e.g., no Pangos, Heslip, Hanlan or Lyles).

Other websites have those guys, along with Bhullar, McMorrow, Powell, and Stauskas.

Well Stauskas being traded to Philly could change things a bit for him. Hopefully he is still playing for Canada.

Great move for Stauskas by the way - he probably starts in Philly and could shine as an outlet for Okafor (and Embid if healthy).

Sac was such a bad place for him - what a messy organization. I heard allot of rumors this season about how bad it was for Nik. Cousins was just a complete a-hole to Nik, really just a bully. Lots of racist insults constantly thrown at Nik too and the organization wouldn't do crap about it. And it was pretty clear his confidence was shot for most of the season. Rumors, rumors... but I am sure Nik is pretty happy to get out of there.

As I said...rumors! That is what the interwebs is for though right? Anonymous rumor mongering!
Who the heck knows...maybe they made up near the end of the year and that helped Nik turn it around. Boogie doesn't have the greatest reputation.

Anyways - it is a great opportunity for Nik, hope he makes the most of it as it was a pretty rough first season.

NBA.com now has the following Canadians on summer league rosters:

Bachynski
Birch
Ejim
Hanlan
Lyles
McMorrow
Nastic
Scrubb
Walker
Wiggins (Nick)

Still not listing Bhullar, Heslip, Pangos, Powell, or Stauskas, all of whom have been reported by other sources as being on summer league rosters.

I generally like the list too.

Not to concerned with Olynyk's absence - I am still confident he will be there for FIBA's.

I am glad Nicholson and Bennett are there. Good chance for them to get some playing time, regain their confidence, etc.

I like the college guys they have picked - Pierre, Brooks, Murray, and Wiltjer. I can see all four being contenders for senior team spots going forward.

Also nice to see Bhullar, Ashaolu, and D. Joseph back with the program. Given the lack of Cs, I think Bhullar is a good bet to make the team. I guess this means he won't be in Summer League for Sacramento.

I am not a big fan of Doornekamp or T. Scrubb, but i guess it doesn't hurt to have them in camp.

Wolstat tweets:

Olympic qualifying roster will add Stauskas, Ennis, Wiggins, maybe more, but Thompson and Cory Joseph extremely unlikely and 50-50.

Is he unaware of Ennis' injury?

If he is right that C. Joseph is only 50/50, we could really be in trouble. Anderson and Cadougan as our PGs?

Ah, so no Stauskas after all, if that list is correct. Too bad.

It's an interesting group, and I imagine cutting 4 players will be fairly tough just because there are a number of players there that seem to have roughly equal skill level, but do different things well. Surprised to see Ashaolu there. I didn't realize he was still hanging around the program. I'm not sure I'd pick him over giving some of the younger wings experience (Pierre, Brooks, Ejim, Wiltjer), but it'll be good to have him in training camp.

Overall it'll be really interesting to see where they go in terms of youth versus experience. Do they try to put together the absolute best team possible out of that group, or do they use the Pan Am games to get the young guys experience? I think that would determine whether guys like Ashoalu, Doornekamp and Joseph make it (I'm assuming English makes it either way), or if those spots go to the young guys I mentioned above.

I think Bennett, Nicholson, English and probably Anderson are locks. Probably Murray as well, because it seems they may want to showcase him. Bhullar likely makes it as the only real center, and Cadougan as the 3rd PG.

That leaves 5 spots from amongst all the SG/SF guys (even if guys like Ejim and Wiltjer can also shift to the 4 at times) - Ashaolu, Brooks, Doornekamp, Ejim, Joseph, Mullings, Pierre, Scrubb, Wiltjer.

Wow, everyone jumped on this quick in the time I was writing my response.

I'm guessing Wolstat is also missing Powell and Sacre? Or, at least, I hope he is if Thompson is unlikely.

Brooks, Stauskas, English, etc. may be o.k to bring the ball up the floor in no pressure situations, but if they were in the game with no true PG, I think other teams would press and we would in trouble.

IMHO we need 2 true PGs on the roster. With Ennis injured, Kagongo seemingly out of the picture (he could have benefited from PanAms), and Pangos and Joseph questionable b/c of contracts, we could be looking at Anderson and Cadougan for the FIBAs.
