I have no doubt that Joel believes he's ready, but that doesn't mean the docs and Sixers staff will agree with him and may want to play it cautious. I hope that's not the case, but I could see it being the situation.

He's there at the practice with Assistant Coach Billy Lange and other Sixers' staffers, like they know that he's doing this stuff and it seems fine to them.

I agree, but I don't think that he would be telling everyone that he is fine if the doctors are recommending surgery to him. In that regard, I think what he is telling people is a good sign.

Wouldn't that be the cherry on top of a great few days just when the franchise was getting bad news after bad news capped by a dull draft? I'm pumped. A healthy Embiid makes us that much more stacked.

If Embiid does need surgery, then the Sixers aren't doing a very good job covering their tracks from the criticism that would follow. I'm quite optimistic that he won't need it, none of the coaches seem to care that he's walking around dribbling a basketball the day after his medical trip to Charlotte.

I am going to echo the same sentiment, goddamn Embiid is huge. I pray to the basketball god that he is fully healthy. He can be our AD.

My sentiments exactly. You don't delay surgery for an athlete this long if he/she requires it. Not expecting surgery, but cautiously optimistic about when he'll be back on the court.

Just curious, what is the rationale in thinking that Embiid's growth spurt inhibited his foot healing? I could see some could reason that it put more stress on his foot, but that's just weight, really, which could have come without the height. If his bones were still growing, it should have made the healing process easier.

If Joel and Jah get paired together and stay healthy. We are pretty much unstoppable inside. I hope Noel and fetch of Jabari Parker or Giannis at deadline or next off season.
