How many of you would be opposed to a trade of Lee and Barnes from GS for Young and Kelly if we somehow fail to land a decent free agent?

haha honestly i agree with you 100%. I believe that Barnes is a part of their core and we would have to give up something of larger value like DAR or Randle for him. This deal will not happen but if it does I would be ecstatic.

Anyways just thought I would throw it out there, since i just had this convo with a good friend of mine who is a die hard Warriors fan, who believed that he would be the guy on the bubble if they had to throw in an additional player for the deal to be sweetened. He believed that their team runs better with Iggy starting and that Barnes could be had.

One of Steve Kerr's priorities going into the season, from what I understand, was instilling confidence in Barnes as a starter. I can't see how they'd give him up that easily.

I was thinking more as a stop-gap at the 5 myself. He's certainly no stranger to the position. It'd be small ball all year, but, eh, I hear that's all the rage with the kids these days anyhow.

One year rental too, which is all he's got left on his current contract. More room frees up again once the years up. It's not like there's a whole lot of better options at center right now, and he can show Randle some post moves, since he's pretty crafty with both hands.

Kevon Looney makes no sense for this team considering they drafted Nance over him. There are also better options available than David Lee for the cap room. Why not Hibbert who fills the C position? Why not even Nene? WAS im sure has better assets than Looney who is going to need hip surgery.

Kevon Looney was wishful thinking, a sort of inside joke (but not really a joke) for Ty, because he's been his under-the-radar favorite all season at UCLA.

Sucks about the red flags, because he could have been a lottery pick, especially with his advanced stats.

Patience is the Lakers friend now... They are going to be a serious player in the salary dump moves after LMA picks his team and the new cap gets finalized. Since the knicks mini spending spree on garbage, the lakers and sixers are the only ones with serious cap space to absorb contracts for assets. And the sixers have shown a reluctance to take on bloated deals.

It doesnt come down to whos better: hibbert or nene or Lee... It comes down to who comes with better assets so a team can get below the tax.

Looney was lucky to be picked at the end of the 1st round. He was projected to be picked around there anyways. The hip injury was reported on the day of the draft.

Sixers just took on a bunch of assets by taking on contracts from the Kings.

Why are we not seriously looking at McGee? We need a rim protector.
If the dice rolls our way, Wizards may look to unload Nene's contract, which has 1 year left. I would jump all over that.

We could still get Lee if we picked up Hill's option and traded him and Swaggy to the Warriors. Both would fit in there and maybe they'd throw in a far-future pick to sweeten things

Lee has takena lot of bashing but he's a very good player and perfect as a small ball center

Among the opposed would be the GSW management, I can pretty much guarantee
