Even when the plan is horrifying. If tomorrow I told the press that, like, LeBron will fire his coach after the finals, or the Lakers will trade for Cousins, nobody panics. Because it's all part of the plan. But when I say that LaMarcus Aldridge might sign with the Suns, well then everybody loses their minds!

Source: Suns are getting closer to signing LaMarcus Aldridge. No more meetings between the two sides unless he visits PHX. Check out @Schultz_Report's Tweet: https://twitter.com/Schultz_Report/status/617326314282971136

You really don't know? Busted achilles. Another player in the long list of examples that proves you just don't come back from that injury. It's why everyone thinks that Matthews signing is insane.

If the Clippers really are interested in Gerald, can't we use the following as framework? Maybe include minor salaries to make it balance...

Suns out: Gerald Green s&t
Clippers out: DeAndre Jordan s&t
Mavs out: Tyson Chandler s&t

Suns in: Tyson Chandler
Clippers in: Gerald Green
Mavs in: DeAndre Jordan

Thinking outside the box there Nev. I'm not sure if a S&T can work involving three teams. Hopefully someone else can shed some light here?
It would be even better if Mavs just went after Green. Make things a lot less complicated, at that point couldn't we just do a s&t for Green/Chandler and then not have to give up Kieff? That would be epic.

I like when people point out that Spurs must have him because they got second meeting....it was probably because Pop was nervous....trying to not show it, but talking a little too much like here.....he says he isn't at 1:40 but obviously is..

I'm not sure anyone outside of the NBA knows. I tweeted the question to Zach Lowe a few days ago and didn't get a response.

So all the Spurs have is...

Boris Diaw 33 years old
Tim Duncan 39 years old
Manu Ginobili 37 years old
Tony Parker 32 years old
Danny Green 28 years old
Kawhi Leonard 23 years old

Meanwhile the Suns have..

Eric Bledsoe 25 yrs old
Brandon Knight 23 years old
Markieff Morris 25 years old
Alex Len 22 years old
TJ Warren 21 years old
PJ Tucker 30 years old
Tyson Chandler 32 years old
Devin Booker 18 years old
Jon Luer 26 years
Archie Goodwin 20 years old

I'm not saying that our talent is compatible to Spurs but let's be honest. This isn't the Spurs in their mid 20's , these are the Spurs in their mid 30's. HUGE difference!! They've also lost some key component on their bench with MBelinelli and TSplitter .. The only thing I see the Spurs selling LMA is their past tradition which is good.

Maybe I need to take my Suns glasses off .. But I just don't see it

Don't they have any young guys (first round picks) from the past few years? I know they have Kyle Anderson...is that it?

Unless he knows something no other source knows, this just sounds strange.

How does he know Suns are "getting closer"?

Did he mean to write "Spurs are getting closer"? (hopefully not!)

No more meetings unless HE visits PHX = either LMA is good with what we've told him OR he's done with us.

Either way, #LMAtoPHX

Couldn't the Spurs let it slip that the league treats them better because of the long friendship of Stern and Holt? They could tell LMA that he could get calls there, while not getting the calls in PHX. Heck they can even show video proof of that.

And I'm sorry, but this just looks too natural. He looks like he was born to play for the SUNS!

I can't quite tell if you're 100% joking, but holy cow I never even thought of that as a recruitment tool. That could seriously be something they talk about. I wonder if players actually take that into consideration?

I obviously hope he signs here. It'd be really exciting for us.

But it's entirely possible we still aren't a very good team with Aldridge. I mean, our system is really flawed in the backcourt.

Popovich can teach him the art of flopping and then complaining to refs while actually looking innocent and shocked of the call they just made. Spurs have better actors than half of Hollywood.

Corey Joseph and Patty Mills. That is literally the extent of their roster.

It worked just fine when it was Bledsoe/Goran in the first season. No reason that Knight can't do the same or better in that same system. Obviously the offense will change a bit if we get LMA, but I don't see why the backcourt would be bad. I think we will go back to the idea of keeping at least one of Bledsoe or Knight on the court at all times, should work well.
