Interesting that these teams are willing to help each other out.

The Mavs are not

Wouldn't mind Hibbert if we get an asset along with him.

I'll take Hibbert and some 2nd rounders. That's enough for me.

Me too.
At this point I'll take Hibbert.
It'd be a one year rental. Then we can go from there.
I think Indy would be happy if we take him off of their hands.

And don't forget that we'll have his bird rights, so if he has a good season then it's an asset too.

That would be very generous of Indiana and Dallas to do, since there's no reason for them to do so.

There were reports that Bird told him not to opt in, and grumblings throughout the year the Pacers didn't want his contract but nothing official.

Why whould anyone even consider Hibbert? He's hugh, slow, has basically no skills and even worse conditioning, doesn't fit with a smaller, faster team like the Lakers seem to be trying to build. In fact, that's why Indiana's been trying to dump him for the last two years! They are moving toward a more up-tempo style and he just doesn't fit the program. Hell, he barely fints into his shorts.

Getting Hibbert would be nothing short of monumentally stupid. I don't care what comes with him.
If more people thought like I do, the world would be a much better place.

I'm eager to see how Mitch is going to fill out this roster.
It has to be with the intention of being competitive night in and night out.
I hope it's not with the mind set of tanking again.

The West is loaded as usual.
Honestly, even with LMA, we would have had a hard time making the playoffs.
Between LAC, HOU, SAS, GSW, DAL, POR, OKC, MEM, NOLA, PHO etc..., two of these teams are going to miss the playoffs, and the're all stronger than us, even if we got LMA.

That said, as a long time Laker fan, I want to see a competitive team, that gives everything it has every night next year.

Your post is monumentally stupid. The trade for Hibbert is to get assets in return which can also fill a need; minimally as an expiring. You don't make this trade for any other reason than that.
