Cleveland already has wings and bigs, Webster and Blair probably wouldn't be in their rotation so they'd be helping us out for nothing. Maybe there's some interest in Sessions if they don't re-sign Delly, but that's about all I see from their perspective.

Can we get in on this with NENE PLEASE ! Maybe the pacers would want him for one year? 3 way,
Lakers: Hibbert
Pacers: NENE
WIzards: TPE
I'm sure the lakers will need to toss a pick or too the pacers way, maybe we can add Thomas to the pacers to make this work?

I think the Pacers are just dumping him for pure cap relief. Wouldn't want Nene.

They also just re-signed Allen. Drafted Turner. Have Mahinmi at $4 million for another year.

They need guards and they are not as good on the wing as you think they are. They are stacked up front yes, But they need wing depth and guards. Webster would be better than J.R. Younger cheaper and a better teammate and defender. Sesseions is a much better back up guard over delli. It makes some sense for them. Both Webby and Sessions would be rotation guys for them.

How/why would we give up Sessions without another backup point guard on the roster? I'm not running Neal or Temple out there in that spot.

Rodney Stucky, Jeremy Lin, Donald Sloan. Are all out there and all of them would probably be better than Sessions.

But all would have to agree to join us, which they haven't. I'm not giving up Sessions without one of them or someone else being lined up first.

Sessions was fine I thought... it was a gamble that paid off actually. Sessions also expires this season and I think that fits in nicely with trying to bring over Sato next season, who currently looks like a better prospect moving forward to me then Stuckey and Lin. Donald sloan prolly isn't going to improve much anymore at age 27. Lin might get a starting spot in Dallas...so that might not matter. Stuckey...I mean I'm not counting him to shoot the 3 ball that well...that seemed like a massive departure from his career numbers, otherwise yah, I'd say stuckey is better if he keeps up the 3 pt shooting. But at what cost?

Webster better than J.R. Smith? I don't think so. If that were the case the Zards should just keep Webby. At this point, Martell is pretty useless unless he gets his 3 pt shot back. And, imo, J.R. is a better defender and definitely a better ballhandler than Webster.

I'll grant that Webby may be the better teammate but that's about all he has on J.R.

What exactly do you think we can accomplish with a TPE at this point? We can't trade for an expensive guy for a contract that lasts longer than 1 year. And if we use it to trade for a cheap guy, we could just as easily use our MLE instead.

The good free agents are gone. At this point, I think we're better off with Nene than with a TPE in his place. If Gortat gets hurt, we're going to be pretty happy to have Nene step in and cover for him for a few games.

I'm thinking Pacers are gonna make a run at Koufos. He's a guy that could start for a number of teams in the league.

You guys are clearly higher on NENE than I am, I would be more than happy to part with him just to open a spot on the team. There are plenty of good players left. Stuckey, Lin, Sloan, Withey, Aldrich, Sims. I would rather have any of those guys over nene at this point. NENE is not a starting caliber big anymore and I would rather trade him than watch randy start him next to gortat.

Nah. Nene can still play good D and that has value. As long as Wittman moves him to backup center, I think he'll still be a reasonably solid player going up against opposing backups. He's highly overpaid, yes. But he's way better than the minimum salary vet types that are still available in free agency.

I wouldn't mind getting a true backup center like Withy, Aldrich or Sims, but I don't see why we have to trade Nene to make it happen. Just trade Blair away.

Yes, and all are looking for a long term deal which eliminates KD2DC. Why do I have to keep pointing this out? It's not rocket science. The reason why EG can't land really good players is because he can only sign them for 1 season. Good players want longer contracts.

Could see Indy using that large TPE they just got to get David Lee to be their PF next year.

While the Lakers are striking out, the Knicks have been getting guys to sign. But they are all non-stars on multi-year deals:

Lopez/O'Quinn
Melo/Porzingis/DWill
Afflalo/DWill
Grant/???
Calderon/???

Still, maybe a couple guards away from respectability?

Knicks might still be the 2nd worst team in the East. Their perimeter defense will be awful, and they still don't have a secondary scorer next to Melo. To me, I have the East as:

1) Cavs
2) Hawks
3) Heat
4) Pacers
5) Wiz
6) Bucks
7) Bulls
8) Raptors
9) Orlando
10) Hornets
11) Nets
12) Pistons
13) Celtics
14) Knicks
15) 76ers

He's made plenty of money over his career, winning actually does have an appeal to some players.

I'm amazed that David West might actually be available for as cheap as the vet minimum to SA. I figured he'd go for well over the MLE back when Barely recommended him a while ago. If the Wiz can get him for the MLE, I'll have to re-think my no on that and maybe eat some crow. Maybe he'd be the 2015/16 version of Pierce.
