Are the bad character issues legit??

Marcus Morris will be considered a gentle soul by Pistons standards.

This genuinely made me laugh.

Morris will either work, or he won't. Josh Smith serves as a sterling example of how little patience Stan Van Gundy will exhibit for any player that displays a poor attitude and won't play team ball.

How does everyone foresee the minutes breaking down here?

My guess is they both play about 28 minutes, with 24 at the 3 and 4 at the 4 unless we sign another PF. Maybe Warren more like 25 and Tucker a little over 30.

Hey, Detroit:

How about your 2nd rounder in 2020 back for Marcus? :(

Marcus sucked. Kieff has actual talent. Thing is, this move might break his spirits. Or maybe not. He's a grown ass man, right? Like Gortat?

Saying good bye to Mook is the best thing that happened this offseason.

I really don't think he'll be as bad as some posters (including myself) says he'll be. I just think he kind of got too comfortable and thought he was the man because he had his bro with him backing him up and he played for a laid back coach. A much tougher coach like SVG and being on a new team by himself again, might be what he needs to get his focus back and get back in line.

Lmao the Pistons fans on their board actually think Suns regret this trade since LMA didn't sign here

Little do they know that we didn't expect a team stupid enough to take him from us without us having to add a major asset like a 1st rd pick to dump him

I'm sure the Suns don't really care but it remains to be seen if Warren can step up. Marcus was a better offensive weapon than Tucker was at the SF last year.

when the twins split their 13M i thought that Marcus got more than his share.

this trade was very good all things considered. compare it to the Kings' nightmare trade :/

i assume McD had a trade in place to move Kieff if LMA had come here. whatever that trade was, now he can look for a better one if it's necessary to trade Kieff. personally i hope he stays so we can see him put together another good season like he did in 13-14.

Just thought about this... but it's really gotta suck to be traded not once, but twice for nothing but a 2nd round draft pick after being a lotto pick a few years back. I wonder if he's thought about that.

Good point. But it doesn't seem like he has enough self-awareness to realize, "I keep getting dumped for nothing. Maybe something is wrong with me?"

My dog was probably a better offensive weapon than Tucker last year too, not saying much.

I think Warren and Weems can easily replace any offense that Marcus brought to the table.

I want Warren to start over PJ.

Other then the off court stuff, I don't get the hate for Marcus Morris.

I thought he played well for us and was a great weapon off the bench. He was too strong for other 3's and seemed to hit most of his outside shots. He can knock down the 3, played petty well in isolation situations, and did a decent job of defending and grabbing rebounds.

When we played "big" and ran Len, Keef, Marcus, Tucker, and Bledsoe, our defense and rebounding was legit. Marcus was a big reason why that lineup worked.

For a 2nd round pick, Detroit got a steal assuming he beats the assault charge.

But on our side, even though we lost out on LMA, it still probably made sense to trade him just because Keef seemed to regress as a leader/teammate with Marcus around. Keef never had a problem with T's until Marcus arrived. Keef never seemed to be a bad locker room influence until Marcus arrived. Keef also probably got dragged into the assult thing by Marcus.

Trading Marcus to give Keef a second chance was the way to go.

Seriously, I'm with you! I wanted to do that right in the office at work!
Can't watch that GIF without wooing like Homer either.

Good by Marcus, won't miss you at all, another player that made watching the Suns so joyless. Trading him and two other players that don't contribute is a huge win.

As far as Markief, since he is on a decent contract, (and only 3 years left now right?) no need to try and trade him before the season starts unless someone with an interesting piece is offered for him. Start the season, see how he is playing, and go from there.

There's no guarantees with anything, Morris might suck badly in Detroit, you don't second guess trading an average player and a locker room cancer. I'm excited about TJ Warren, I do think he is ready to take it to the next level and I think its only a matter of time before he ends up passing up PJ as a starter.
