We should be paying them not he other way around. That's why Lee isn't discussed, west would make Jim and Mitch his rightful bitch. We need the big more than they need to get rid of him and add assets, they aren't Lin and Houston trying to make bosh money.

And if you go Roy Hibbert you may as well pay Josh Smith to start at PF to add defensive mobility, then start Nick at the 3 to spread the floor with Kobe and the rookie. Control Clarksons price before he asks for 10m per next year and make Randle earn a starting role

Depends what we give up.

But I def wouldn't be mad at getting Hibbert.

People acting like he washed up and garbage when he's a very serviceable center.

Let's face the reality, we aren't gonna be in 'chip contention or even playoff contention for like the next 2 years.

Next couple years is bout developing our young group to see what they can do, then if it all clicks together that's when all the FAs potentially flock to us.

Roy can hold down that Center position as we go thru the developing phase and keep us solid.

Hibbert would be getting to work with Kareem alot more often.

I'll take it, send them Kelly+Sacre+cash to make up the cap for the trade kicker if possible. If they're willing to toss in a second rounder or Joe Young's rights, sweet. If not who cares.

He's hugh, slow, has basically no skills and even worse conditioning, doesn't fit with a smaller, faster team like the Lakers seem to be trying to build. In fact, that's why Indiana's been trying to dump him for the last two years! They are moving toward a more up-tempo style and he just doesn't fit the program. Hell, he barely fints into his shorts.

Getting Hibbert would be nothing short of monumentally stupid. I don't care what comes with him.

....So I'll put you down for "yes" then?

I just love that somebody else here has a sense of humor!

Um... that would be a borderline, sorta kinda no.

Chandler: 103 (133 ORtg)
Lopez: 104 (117 ORtg)
Hibbert: 101 (101 ORtg)
Koufos: 99 (103 ORtg)
Jordan: 98 (126 ORtg)

drtg before Ortg

and just for reference a career 27mpg player still means you need another legit PF or C to eat time because Randle isn't ready for 30, Tarik is best in 20min increments ... Plus he has mobility issues, don't mention Kelly or Sacre two bum asses

Pretty sure we're not sending players back in return. This is a move to fill up our cap most likely.

I don't even want a second rounder for them, just take. Kelly and Sacre bum asses to be their subs so I never have to see them start or get minutes again ... That's payment enough

those ratings are team dependent and don't mean much.

We still aitn at the floor with just Hibbert and if they solely get a 1 year Hibbert, they are stupid and need to be fired, both Mitch and Jim because its repeating the last two years ... But I bet their brain trust gives hill the rest of the cap and another team option to you see articles near the break talking about him being an asset but not beign able to get anything from him.. That's so them

i love how chandler and jordan - two offensively limited centers - have highest ORTGs. i bet that kobe three years ago has lower, or pau, or bynum in his 18-11-2 season.

Some of you are whack. LA would be doing Indy a monumental favor to take Hibbert and thus should be getting sweeteners, not giving. Bird asked Hibbert NOT to opt in!! They don't want him at that price tag. They better kick over something worth while or take back a contract. 15.5 mil in space is worth something!!

Let me emphasize:
They asked Hibbert NOT to opt in!!
And basically he said "F*** You", and went ahead and did it anyways.
You don't get assets with that dysfunction level. You have to give to clean the ish up.

Its means something. Tyson and DJ are better than him, they move better, they get off the floor better, and it makes them both better finishers, rebounders, and scorers at a higher percentage. Koufos numbers line up on his career even as a starter in Denver so its consistent, legit 7 footer, good hands, more nimble, hits his free throws, and not afraid to pop the **** out of you thus the foul troubles. Brook is an offensive center, he doesn't play great d or board, protects the rim decently when he sees you coming, but his O is so far advanced he's never a neutral impact.

Hibbert can play but it has to be in a controlled environment. Bunch of smash mouth slow it down, funnel it to him ball. He won't score off post ups, settles for jumpers, doesn't board outside his area at all, and has confidence issues. He is a iron man physically but a glass man mentally which is why guys like boozer and Dragic call him soft to his face. If you're getting him, you need a PF that an play above a rim and recover quickly since we don't have Paul George. You need spacing. You almost need to pay a guy like Josh Smith and let him start

We'll have enough money to go after either a wing or a backup point guard. If you assume Dorell Wright will be there for the room exception, we'd be looking at point guard options. Flip the script and you could easily say let's get a SF for the leftover money and find a cheap room exception PG. Could definitely go either way.

Yeah I agree here. Pacers should send a first round pick. otherwise this is just a dumb move when we could just sign Koufos
