And the Clippers and Pelicans should be playoff teams but kind of ho-hum teams that everyone knows will be bounced early.

Not too much thought into my rankings, but your post made me realize the absurdity of the West next season.

1. Warriors
2. Spurs
3. Mavs
4. Rockets
5. Grizzlies
6. Thunder
7. Clippers
8. Pelicans

That still leaves Minnesota, Phoenix, Utah, and Portland out of the playoffs. The West had 9 teams above .500 last year...seems likely they're on pace for 12 this year. Almost has to be the last year before playoff restructuring IMO.

I'd drop the mavs down to 6 and move the teams in between up one. A lot of unknowns with the Mavs at this point. Also without a center at this point, LAC is going to be battling to get in the playoffs.

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

Free agent LaMarcus Aldridge will sign with the San Antonio Spurs, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

He would have been an idiot to not go to SA.

Still...unbelievable how easy it is for them to reload. That franchise is truly something else.

It is because their best players take less than market value to be part of that team. Tony Parker takes less than he could make. Danny Green just agreed to terms on less than he could have been paid this off season. Ginobli is either going to retire or sign for the vets minimum or maybe $2 mil. Duncan is going to sign for $5 mil.

That's how they can bring in LaMarcus Aldridge.

Meanwhile you have Kobe making $25 mil for the Lakers, Wade $20 mil for the Heat, etc.

I understand the players tho, they let the owners steal 6% of their revenue split because owners lied to them about the financial situation the league was in so lots of them don't want to hear anything about sacrificing for those owners.

Dallas and OKC are the wildcards. Dallas needs to add another guy or two, I love Devin Harris but he is definitely not a starting PG. And we'll see how Wesley Matthews looks. And I do think that if OKC is healthy they're the only ones with a roster at this moment that could challenge the Warriors or Spurs. I think even without DeAndre Jordan the Clippers should be able to make the playoffs. I just don't see Utah or Portland or Phoenix being able to knock them off that spot.

don't sleep on Memphis. That's a solid team who might have beat the Warriors with a healthy Conley. I like the Wright and Barnes additions for them. If they stay healthy they got a real shot to come out of the west next year.

Hibbert probably headed to lakers. That's a deal that makes a lot of sense for both sides.

My favorite thing about this is seeing someone tweet "Dude, Kobe made the playoffs with KWAME BROWN. We're a LOCK with Hibbert!"

I don't mind the Spurs reloading. Their Front Office just runs so much better than pretty much anyone else. Competence should be rewarded - substance should beat flash.

The Clips should just embrace small ball and play with Griffin at center a lot of the time.

I think that if they don't do this then their front office is really locked into a trade or offseason move that they will regret horribly in the long run.

While it probably works, you risk pissing off your best big man. I could see Blake being pissy about it.

Anyone want Crawford as bench depth for a year instead of Plums?

Not doing it is going to lead to them having to fish for big men and no one is going to part with their's cheaply. They are probably going to have to toss Crawford into any trade that gets them a big, and Crawford was a big portion of their bench scoring.

LA will be giving assets (I think they said a future first). Indy kinda knew they were painted into a corner.

Can't believe that Bird would help the Lakers. He better make them pay a lot.

Did he trade them Paul George or something? Hibbert's a fine player but lets not go crazy.
