At least this time it isn't as stupid a quantum leap as taking Lin. And just for reference the only reason we took on a pick for lin is they thought they had bosh to Miami swooped in and went total max. It wasn't us being a good front office, let that go, we haven't been that in years

This is why we suck and a good chance we are always going to suck from now on. No we don't NEED a center we are a Lotto team without a Lotto pick. you know who NEEDs something play off teams. Lotto teams need Asset not some who has 1 year left on there contract that wont turn them into a play off team.

We need to hit the floor as well and teach guys like the youngins how to play D as none of the 3 were known for it in high school or college. Don't be silly .. It was always Hibbert or Koufos up next

Koufos would of been a way better pick up if we could sign him to a nice 2-3 year contract the guy had no power in it. Why we could gain an asset out of it instead of the trash we just got. Lol your telling me we need to pay over 18 mil in cap space to teach the young guys. We don't got any Conner stone center maybe Upshaw(we better sign him to a 3 year contract). He is teaching anyone anything. He is a Laker now so I will cheer him on and love him. Does not mean I am not going to trash our FO for this real real real dumb dumb move.

You apparently have no long term perspective. The Lakers can flip Hibbert at some point during the season for a team desperate for a Center. And seeing the teams lacking front court help, we may get some of those assets you're talking about down the road.

Lets. Also be real here, Mitch and Jim won't turn him into anything. Best case is they hover around 500 and they look to bring someone else in

Depends how he plays. We'll be sellers at the deadline.

Mitch has never in his nba life been a seller at the deadline, let it go, he's not West

You put a guy next to him who can move, recover, get back from a to b and then chase the distant boards. I like Randle but to me he's a sixth man along with Clarkson. I'd almost give all our other money not Josh smith to let him start at PF

Yeah ...it's slim pickings ...I'd probably try Brandon Bass first tho ....less of an ego

I mean if Nance wasn't a nba rookie, I could see him getting a look next to him based off the way he played in college. Refs won't give him any respect though

True ...from what I'm reading on Twitter you guys have about 5 million left since Roy had a trade kicker on his contract ....not a lot of dough to find a starter

Lakers getting away with highway robbery in this trade. Basically gave away no assets for a one year rental, I'll take it. Hopefully a change in scenery can help rejuvenate Hibberts career.

No don't got to spend nothing. The "penalty" is we have to spread the money under the cap to all of OUR players. Here you got Russle Clarkson and Randle here is a Bonus yeah they would really hate that wouldn't they....

Right...two players we wanted to keep, that we weren't able to and then just left. I don't think Hibbert is one of those guys.

Adding one of the best rim protectors to a squad with the worst defense in the league last season while punting our cap space towards another summer. Cannot complain about this deal at all. Hibbert is a bit of a softie but who cares, he does one thing well and has a capable jumper range to FT line.

Yeh its not a lot at all. It's basically enough for a Josh smith who is also getting paid by Detorit or for a Lou Williams/Gerald Green type if their market is dry.

I mean they could go fully in and give Koufos all that is left since Roy has never played big minutes like Marc and Zach, and honestly there isn't anywhere left for him to go and be a starter anymore ... That pretty much seals Randle and Black at PF then. They need a fourth big, and I think they go after a guy even if Jordan Hill

Lol we are not a play off team. Adding wins adds nothing for the team. You yourself said why it is stupid the only ones winning is Hibberts and Indy. If Hibberts had 2 years left on his deal I would not be as bad 1 bad year we buy low we win something out of it. Right now WE GAIN NOTHING

Just need to find a half decent wing player now. Someone not named Wesley Johnson.

Only positive is Hibbert spent a good part of this summer working out with Kareem before his bypass.

Makes more sense than Lee because he stays healthy. Our medical staff and injury luck would have Lee out all year. To me Lee fits Phoneix if they still want a starting 4, as their medical staff is the absolute best and Tyson can hide him.

Dorell Wright for the room and a backup PG like Joseph, Lin, or Calathes with the leftover money from Hibbert deal. Dump Sacre and ink Upshaw. Byron's prodigal son Ronnie Price for the vet min. ROLL!

Yeh its not a lot at all. It's basically enough for a Josh smith who is also getting paid by Detorit or for a Lou Williams/Gerald Green type if their market is dry.

Why would Josh Smith sign here though?

Money? Lakers only have 5 Mill or so.
Winning? Funny.
Playing time? Okay, maybe, but that won't be enough.

He's found a home in Houston.

I honestly believe that " Ramona Shelburne " would make a Better Center/Post defender then Hibbert. I mean who's gonna move her out of the paint. ?
