I will tell people right now. Please don't get your hopes up for this guy. He isn't going anywhere. If he comes to Phx, I will be happily wrong, but don't expect it and you won't be disappointed.
If he comes to Phoenix, I'll go blind from fapping furiously.

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 3: Spurned for the Spurs
I don't think it's a stone cold lock that Keef will have an aneurysm and pout all year. I absolutely think he's going to be pissed, but he is friends with a lot of the guys on the team (esp Bledsoe and Len, and Archie too). He's never really given any indication he's not a team player, so I'm optimistic he'll come around and do good by his friends. That being said, I do think it's still more likely that he pouts all offseason and doesn't really get better or bring it next year. Hope he does, though.

If mcD could get a meeting with Durant, NO one's leaving that room until an agreement is made on a deal lol

My emotions these past few days
The last reaction is me accepting the fact that Spurs was the logical choice for LMA

I don't think we should give up too much. I also don't even know who is on the block around the league. I am, however, also really excited to see TJ play bigger minutes this year. I wish he could start every game, but I guess that's PJs spot. I just think TJ can be huge if given the opportunity. And he seems like a humble guy, so that's always refreshing.
Why would you be out with a Bargnani signing? If you are a tortured Suns and Chargers fan, I can't imagine how a Bargnani one year contract would make you give up on a team.

If you guys really think Kieff will average better than 18.5/12/2 while hovering around 50% shooting an 80% from the line, then I guess we should keep em. Hopefully next offseason we can go after yet another free agent (hopefully he starts in the All-Star game like Pau did, or make All-NBA 2nd team like Pau did).
I think I'd rather have a 35 year old Pau over a 26 year old Kieff any day of the week. I think I'd rather have a 36 year old Pau over a 27 year old Kieff any day of the week.
Oh and btw, Pau has a player option next offseason, if he decided to take it, we could go after Al Horford. Or if he decided to opt-in then the following off-season we could go after Blake Griffin or Nikola Mirotic.
You opinion is your opinion. But are going to be hard pressed convincing any fan that their rebuilding non-playoff team should be trading any youth for a 35 year old player on the downside if his career.
Markieff for Pau is a trade just to make a trade. He makes us no better this year and sets us back in the future.
Exactly. You would want to prioritize anybody who could grow with our core and contribute when the core is in its prime, which will be 3-4 years from now. Kieff fits that mold. Pau will be retired then. And since Pau wouldn't help us win a title because we couldn't win one with him now, that trade is awful for us. It's not as simple as Player X v. Player Y or Player X ever putting up Y's numbers--it's about what gives us the best chance to win a title. If we were Houston or OKC we'd be all over a Gasol-type trade. But we're not.

Funny thing is, I go to a restauarant a couple of hours ago, and sit in the bar, and they had a soccer game between Argentina and Chile on the screen, and I have them change one channel to the summer league game between the Nets and Grizz.
Then I realize this restaurant I am at are all Argentina fans and this game against Chile is HUGE. And it comes down to a shootout. There is one family, obviously Argentina fans with a bunch of kids, and when Chile made stops on the penalty kicks and made them, these kids were DEVASTATED. I mean, I'm talking like an 8 year old with his hands on his head looking way more depressed than anyone about us not getting Aldridge.
It was interesting. I guess Argentina must have been a heavy favorite and I don't even know what the implications of that game were. I was waiting to see an RHJ shimmy and next thing I know I am intently watching the end of a big time soccer game.

I am obviously joking, but I just mean I think it'd be silly bringing him here.

SunsFanSSOL wrote:From Coro:The Suns still will look to add shooting, experience, frontline help and a third point guard in free agency. They will remain open to using their cache of draft picks and young talent in a trade that lands an elite player, which they acknowledge needing to reach the next tier. Until that type of deal becomes available, it appears they will tweak the roster in free agency with role players and count on maturation from their young standouts.
That could mean pursuit of a free agent power forward like Brandon Bass, Jordan Hill, Darrell Arthur or Andrea Bargnani, a wing shooter like Rasual Butler or Dorell Wright, a defensive wing like Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and a backup point guard like C.J. Watson, Ish Smith or a Euroleague player. There also are sentimental free agency options, like a Suns return for Amar'e Stoudemire, who is interested in doing so, or a hometown career finish for Richard Jefferson.
The Suns also now have an interesting situation with four-year power forward Markieff Morris. They clearly were trying to replace him with Aldridge. They traded away his twin and best friend, Marcus, to Detroit for next to nothing to clear the cap room for a possible Aldridge deal.
Markieff also knows he might have been the player the Suns would have dealt in a sign-and-trade with Dallas for Tyson Chandler.
I would rather be the laughing stock of the entire league then sign those garbage players. Taking multiple steps backward with stupid panic moves

Interesting.I like him better than going after Lee or West. Means were doubling down on youth and internal growth

He fits our competitive window, and unlike a guy like Lee, if he works out we don't have to re-sign him again under a crazy high cap.

He would be a PF for Phoenix. A guy who struggles on defense, not a great rebounder either. Personally I'd rather see the Suns pursue Luc Richard Mbah a Moute who is a very good defensive player off the bench.

I wonder if there was an agreement with chandler that if we didn't land Aldridge we would deal him to a contender once he's eligible
