I'm a little confused about why that would help. Didn't SAC draft WCS specifically because they wanted better defense from their non-Cousins big man spot? I think our rebounding will be fine with the pieces we've got, and I don't see Thompson as a particularly reliable rim protector.

I really don't track Sacramento that closely though so maybe I'm off on that.

No, you are right. Thompson isn't a rim protector or post defensive player. At all.

He's known for offensive rebounding.

*That's it.

Mills has been rumoured as being needed to be dealt in order to get LMA. I would LOVE Patty on this team! Future second(s) for Patty?

Would be perfect, and we showed interest last year. Though there are rumors that the cap may be about $2m higher than at first reported.

Al to the Lake Show. Demand Russell but if they refuse then be like OK fine, have it your way, we'll take Clarkson.

I would prepare a giant sell on how al will fit into their vision just as okafor would have, except in a "win-now" way. Dont include the fact that in actuality, having Al on your team is a "win never." We need to do this quickly, preferably during a time when Clifford has locked himself in his room looking at slo mo videos of Al holding the ball on the block.
The Lamb flock's vision has come true.

Al for Clarkson and then resign Biz and have him to compliment Hawes.

Hawes as a starter was a 13/8 guy and if he and Biz split time they could be a great group. Also Biz would allow Hawes to play a little PF and help both him and Frank there with backup rim protection. We would also have some cap space to work with and our big PG.

What if we did a trade with the Knicks

Al + future 1st ( maybe + hawes or someone else)

For

Calderon + Porzingis

Kinicks get a draft pick for next year plus a win now player/s. Knicks get rid of a unwanted contract and a redundant player (as they have bargnani)

Hornets get a back up pg and another young shooter with possible potential. We also free up some cap space to round out the roster or get marco

While I think this trade would be pretty good, I don't see the Hornets giving up on Al.. It's win now mode, and the FO is still sold on Al as a key piece.

I think both say no. Exum is their future at PG and would start off as a backup here. Cody would be one of many quality bigs in Utah and would come off the bench, and with him gone we'd have no semblance of post defense between Al, Frank, Marvin, and Hawes.

I can't see Utah giving up on Exum yet. He didn't set the world alight last year, but he apparently showed glimpses.

his defence was pretty good as well.

Trey Burke?

Cody would be one of many quality bigs in Utah and would come off the bench

I thought that:

Favors - Lyles
Gorbet - Cody

Might give them a nice 4 man big man rotation that compliments each other well?

Didn't Exum outperform Burke though? I'm not totally up to speed on the Jazz. I think both guys have more value to their current teams, seems both would be trading starters for bench.

just had a look on the Jazz board and apparently Exum has been working his butt off for the last month, impressing trainers.

I don't think he's getting traded in a hurry

Sorry, I meant if Exum is their future at the point then how about swapping him out for Burke.

No way I trade Cody for Burke.....go to the Jazz board, Burke is definately their backup as he would be here, and many of them think rookie Olivier Hanlan may push him for their backup spot

Marvin and 2 future 2nd for Burke

Cody might only be a back up here as well.

So it's a back up PG (which is something we need and who could push to start, who knows?) for a back up PF.

Cody is a better player than Burke right now, and we need him as he is our only interior defender. We need to keep Cody and let him fully develop. Unless our front office is completely ignorant, this will be the last year for Al, and with Biz gone, we will need Cody going forward

Even if it's backup for backup, as a general rule you don't trade big for small. Actually I think the rule is: "Never trade big for small...especially if your other options are Marvin Williams and Spencer Hawes."
