Since the Suns are shooting for the playoffs it would seem McD has something up his sleeve. I do not see Morris taking this very well, I understand he is under contract and must play but that works both ways. He won't be playing for a big contract and I wonder why he would be motivated to give his all to the team that just traded his brother after everything that was said about keeping the family together. I understand McD was in a tough spot with the explosion of Marcus all over Hornacek and the off court issues. But Markie must be very angry and trust me you won't like the Morris brothers when they are angry.
Back to topic who do you think the Suns should go after? Lee has one year left. I wonder if the Warriors would throw in Looney or first. Amare on a one year deal? I've seen some post about seraphin and the Wizard are open to a sign and trade. For those of you who know about his game would you do this trade? It is a shame what happened with the brothers in regards to Hornacek and the off court stuff. I remember watching a few games where Markie was clutch in the fourth. Thank you for your continued support.

Pretty sure there's already a thread for this.

Re: The back up plan
I know there is an offseason thread. I thought I would start a new one after the Aldridge signing to see who fans think the Suns should focus on. Sorry Mods lock it up or get rid of it.

Re: The back up plan
I wouldn't be surprised if we threw a $5million offer at West. I agree that we don't need another older player, but with his connection to Warren, I could see us making the move. Plus West played with Chandler in NO. If he would do it, I would not mind a backup unit of Warren, West, and Len.
Realistically, if he went to the Spurs, how much floor time would he get? He wouldn't start that's for sure.

At this point, let's just make the future of the Suns specific goal to screw with the Spurs. Sign anyone they show interest in before they can meet with them. **** the Spurms.

$5M for West? He has opt out of $12M in Indiana. ...and he are gonna play here on a non contender for #5M? No way.
He would play for that money on a contender. If we want him we need to offer him something like $27M / 3 years deal.

Re: The back up plan
The back up plan = the original plan, the same plan that would/should have happened even if LMA signed here- acquire veteran presence and continue the development of Len, Warren, Goodwin, now Booker, and even Markieff, Bledsoe, and Knight. I think it's preposterous that the latter three players in their Mid 20s have no room for significant development despite what several posters here insist. Not so much talent wise, as they have clearly have that- but IQ wise, a trait that should always increase as they gain more experience. Chandler may be a great figure to foster that.
also, a bit of cognitive dissonance here...sure. But is LMA really 12 million dollars better than Keef?? In LMA's fourth season he averaged 19/8, last year Keef averaged 15/6. Obviously Keef's rebounding leaves much to be desired, but 6 RPG a game is acceptable now with Tyson Chandler, and the above average rebounding #s that come from the 1 and 3 spot via Bledsoe and PJ. Not to forget, LMA was dubbed LaSoftus Aldridge after getting torched by Stoudemire in the 2010 playoffs. Markieff may be a below average defender now, but you can expect Tyson Chandler to instill a better, more consistent defensive effort from Markieff and the throughout the entire team, much the way Dirk was a subpar defender at the 4 before Chandler arrived.
Alternatively if Markieff could be had a for a first rounder, or perhaps a deal like Frye + Gordon. I wouldn't be exactly opposed to that either.

Re: The back up plan
My suggestion would be to bring in Bogdan and sign a stretch 4-5. In fact, the Suns could just take Channing Frye back. His contract is declining and Orlando has no clue how to use him. Then maybe sign Ish or another pg for the minimum. Done.

I don't think Bog has an NBA out until next year.

He could sign a 1+1 contract, get healthy with our med staff, and then revisit FA next year when the cap goes up. Plus then he could sign with a contender that would also allow him to see the floor. If he goes to SA, there really won't be much time at the four.
But if he is just ring chasing, then obviously he wouldn't come here.
