I think he's the most interesting dude left.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Man I'm so glad the Jazz got SOMETHING for him, even if it wasn't much, because there's no way the Jazz would be matching whatever enormous offer he would have received.

I actually think we would have matched and I would have hated it...

I disagree with this. With the crazy money that is being thrown around, Kanter on a multi year deal would be a more valuable trade chip than what we got for him, even at that price. I believe DL had every intention of doing just that if Kanter hadn't demanded a trade. 15 million now is about equal to around 11 million when the cap jumps, so It's really not that bad.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

I think you would have loved it when we traded him at the deadline with some picks for a significantly better player than what we got.

OKC is better off with Adams than Kanter, imo.

Enes is an offensive player, first and foremost. And with a healthy OKC team, there won't be much room left for him to flourish. They'd be paying him 15.5m per year to rebound and not play defense.

Never would have happened... Kanter is too stupid to play it cool and be patient for more than 2 minutes.

Not if he was stuck on our bench and was in full sulk mode and not if the team who tried to pry him away put in poison pills like trade kickers in the contract... He would have become close to untradeable.

OKC is resigning Kanter. The only question is for how much.

After they sign Kanter, they'll be looking to move Perry Jones and Steve Novak to dump salary. And there's a good chance they'll look to trade away Dion Waiters as well.

The roster is stacked.

Westbrook/Roberson/Durant/Ibaka/Kanter
Augustin/Morrow/Singler/Collison/Adams
Payne/McGary/Waiters/Jones/Novak

Well, we should get a pretty good idea of how all that will go down with the thunder. I don't see any teams going after him like that, and I do believe he'll be traded by the thunder within a year or two. However you look at it, we sold low on him because of the uncertainty of his contract status, because nobody wanted a Greg Monroe situation.

Kanter should take the QO, then go get a full MAX next year. If OKC doesn't want to give it to him, with the cap going up, he will make so much more money.

Maybe so, but have you seen what OKC's defensive numbers were after they traded for him, and how our defense was before we dumped him and started Gobert? I don't think there's much coincidence. For as much offense he gives you, his defense is absolute trash.

He might be worth offering the max to, if for no other reason that to put the screws to their cheap owner.

The pacers should have room to sign him also after they trade Hibbert, right?

I think we will get a better chance to evaluate his usefulness once he and Ibaka spend more time playing together. As has been said many times, his man D is not awful, but his PnR D absolutely is. With a guy that has as good of footwork as he does I'd hope there's room to grow there for him, and that if not it can be schemed around.

And to the cancer comments, Kanter felt truly dissed in Utah, he loves it in OKC. Obviously that could change, but I really don't see it as a personality flaw. There's a good article on this I can dig up.

This is just crap. Paid the tax last year and going deep again this year. And at least it's a place where players want to play.

James Harden says hi. There is something funny about OKC going deep into the tax for kanter but not James Harden a few years back. Also, they have made several tax saving moves over the last couple years despite it hurting their overall talent. They are just doing it now because losing Durant is a real possibility and the rising cap means they only have to do it for a couple years and then they can avoid paying the tax again.

Also it is a lock they move pj3, novak and maybe waiters for free after resigning kanter for luxury tax reasons only.
