Lakers depth chart?
I just can't make sense of this yet
Russell/Williams/clarkson are all going to be kinda interchangeable
Kobe and young almost 2 of the same player at this point (20th year kobe..!!!!) and both are totally overmatched at SF
Team needs a wing defender badly. They just don't have anybody.
Is the plan just to funnel everything to hibbert and maybe upshaw?
Russell/Williams/
Clarkson/brown
Kobe/young/brown
Randle/bass/nance/kelly
Hibbert/sacre/upshaw

USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team
Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

Re: Lakers depth chart?
No one ?
No one has an opinion?
You think Lebron is going to sign?
What i posted is pretty much the lakers team for next year!
We were hoping for aldridge/love/jordan/cousins/rondo
We got bass, hibbert,Williams...
But you know what..
That isnt bad
We got young players
Hibbert is a type of player I would take next to theotetical randle
The nance pick is crazy. I can't belive looney slipped (red flag medical? And Embiid went 3 last year? )
We we think the lakers will Sign anyone else?

Rumor has it that we are trying to unload Swaggy, Kelly and Sacre. With that info, I'll have to say that our depth chart is:
Russell/Clarkson
Kobe/Williams/J. Brown
Young/A. Brown
Randle/Bass/Nance/Kelly
Hibbert/Black/Upshaw???/Sacre
I'm confident that if we have to give up a 2nd rounder to get Hibbert, we would probably be able to ship out the small contracts of either Kelly or Sacre. Kelly or Sacre are on 1 year deals so its easy to just neglect them if we don't want them. But we have to showcase Swaggy so we have to give him PT.
As for a defensive wing, yes its great to have a stopper. A. Brown claims that he's a 3&D guy, so hopefully he will work on his defense. If he's not yet ready, which he probably isn't, and since our best lineup would be to play Russell/Clarkson/Kobe we would just have to improve the defense of Clarkson and Russell as well. I'd bet we would even see lineups with Randle at 3 and Bass or Nance or even Kelly at 4.

I could see Nance or Randle competing for the SF Starting position. Kobe is still starting SG to me unless he says otherwise.

Re: Lakers depth chart?
We could basically run 2 different systems
Obviously when Hibbert is playing, you got to slow things down for the big fella to catch up ....I see him playing at around 25 mpg though so basically half the game he's gonna be on the bench
When he sits, we could speed up the game, with the 2nd unit having some explosive guys, going small ball
We could run Clarkson with the 2nd unit .....Clarkson/Williams/A.Brown (or Nick if we keep him)/Nance/Bass...push the hell out of the ball and get some points on the board
We're getting killed defensively in every lineup we use, so spare me the lecture about the D .....but the offense should be top 10 overall based on talent alone

Russell.Young.Kobe.Bass.Hibbert
CLarkson.Williams. Nance.kelly. Upshaw
If we could only resign j hill and w. johnson to cheap deals that would be perfect.

Lakers depth chart?
don't want j. hill or wesley johnson. You are crazy if you want those guys back. The Lakers need a few more proven pieces in free agency to use off the bench while developing Nance. I don't see Nance getting that much playing time initially until he proves himself. I see Russel starting right away, not convinced on Nance yet.

Indiana was a top 10 defense despite missing guys like Paul George and George Hill. However, we have a lot of rookies and also Kobe so I'm hoping Hibbert can help us become a league average defensive team.

How can you have a depth chart when no one know what the actual roster's going to look like yet?
Whatever...
Whatever...
If more people thought like I do, the world would be a much better place.

Re: Lakers depth chart?
To me, the Lou Williams' signing indicates that Clarkson/Russell is going to be our starting backcourt. It's a waste of talent if one of them is on the bench, and Lou Williams makes too much money to be the 4th guard off the bench. Odds are he's that scoring combo guard off the bench.
At SF, I think Kobe at this point is playing the lion's share of minutes there. He's already had two lower extremity injuries, and he doesn't have the legs he used to have. Obviously, you don't want him defending the LeBron's of the world night in and night out, so Swaggy P is the backup SG/SF off the bench.
The backup to Randle and Hibbert is probably Bass.
In terms of the 8 man rotation, I think our depth chart looks like:
PG: Jordan Clarkson / Lou Williams
SG: D'Angelo Russell / Nick Young
SF: Kobe Bryant / Nick Young
PF: Julius Randle / Brandon Bass
C: Roy Hibbert / Brandon Bass

I doubt Jordan starts. He is a combo guard.
Russell is a better combo guard as is Kobe. No need to have 3 of them on the court at the same time. Russell already has a superior court vision compared to jordan..
Jordan started last season over Lin to tank and for JC to develop as an asset. With kobe coming back and russell starting at pg, I highly doubt JC would avg 10 points in the starting lineup..

Re: Lakers depth chart?
To me it looks like it's gonna be:
Russell
Clarkson/WIlliams/J. Brown
Bryant/Young/A. Brown
Randle/Bass/Black/Nance/Kelly
Hibbert/Upshaw/Sacre
I believe Nick Young, Sacre, and Kelly will get traded this off season, but this is the depth chart right now.
Clarkson/Russell/Williams are going to play all the minutes in the PG/SG positions. Whenever Lou WIlliams is playing he will be the 2, and whenever Russell is playing he will be the 1.
I think we should try to lure Alan Anderson, he is a good perimeter defender, and can shoot 3's, he could play the 2 and the 3.
I don't think Kobe Bryant will play that many minutes, but the minutes he does play i think will be at the 3. (probably around 23 to 27)
I know for a fact Young or Williams will not start (depending if Young stays) because Coach Scott doesn't really like Young. And WIlliams has been publicly saying that he is going to be defending his 6th man of the year award.
I think Upshaw can be a great player, so i put him right behind Hibbert. I don't believe Tarik Black can play the 5, unless you wanna risk being a very bad defensive team.
We have a very nice young core, but we need more good role players to lure in superstars. The bass move is very good (depending on how much he will make).
I don't like the Lou Williams signing, because im getting tired of selfish players... like him and young, and lately Kobe... We need two way players to be a good team, and williams is not it... But he is on a reasonable contract so we can later flip him for more assts if we need to.
