It went both ways.

That was what one poster? It barely went both ways.

I don't think it was one poster arguing for Okafor over Towns in that thread. Maybe one poster making ridiculous comparisons, but I don't really remember any Olowokandi level comparisons for Okafor.

My argument was that I can't believe people wanted Okafor over Towns. I didn't bash Okafor.

It's funny how sensitive people are.

Sensitive? Like making baiting comments like that?

Baiting? I made a comment about Towns, since it seems like everyone has been very impressed with him since the draft (even people that seemed to favor Okafor), and you reply talking about how Okafor was besmirched in another thread.

I don't really see how those go together. Do you disagree with my statement or were you just trying to shift the subject?

If you were just trying to shift the subject, does that mean you were trying to bait people into an argument about Okafor again or just making snarky comments?

You made a comment about TOWNS AND OKAFOR. That opens you up to comments about TOWNS AND OKAFOR. If you can't see that, then I don't know what to tell you.

I'm making snarky comments? What is the point of making the sensitive comment? Pretty obvious bait.

To be fair, I brought up a comparison between Okafor and Eddie Curry as a worst case kind of thing.

I didn't watch the game, but Okafor's summer league debut had a very Jefferson-esque statline. If you just look at points and rebounds (18 and 10), it looks like he had an excellent game, but then you look a little deeper (9-21 FGs and 1 assist to 4 turnovers), and it doesn't look so good.

Completely hypothetical but if you could would you trade KAT for Ben Simmons right now even though he can't play til next year?

Probably not, but I'm still big big fan of Simmons.

I can't believe the nonsense some people were saying about Okafor.

I think that's what the biggest thing was for me. It wasn't so much advocating him over Towns, but advocation for him, period.

 Don't backtrack now Klomp. You were shoveling coal in the Okafor train as hard as anyone.

HELL NO!! I was thoroughly unimpressed with Simmons in the hoop summit game - I'll have to watch more of him obviously this coming year but I'm down on him.

No offense, zDank, but I am about to hypothetically throw up in my mouth.

Every other team is hyping their own young players, declaring them untradable, while we are talking about selling Rubio, Dieng, Shabazz, LaVine or even Towns for future unkowns, for pennies on the dollar, when none of those players have reached their ceilings yet.

If you won the lottery (money, not draft), would you invest your entire winnings into more tickets for another chance to win?

Next years draft class is really weak. We should we be glad we got our two generational talents while we could. ;)

Next years draft is stronger than people are saying. Simmons, Labisierre, Brown, Bender, and Ingram are going to make it look much better. Its weaker after that imo, lots of decent to very good PF prospects though.

About time someone said this. People love shiny new things, they'll hype them up like crazy, and then immediately forget about them once they are in the league just to turn around and start hyping the next shiny new thing.

Wiggins and Towns are going to be super stars.

Why the hell are people looking at future drafts?

Towns has all the tools of a Rasheed Wallace without the numbskullism.

I like how Towns is so vocal and out going. He can take away some of that franchise player burden off of Wiggins.

It is also great that we have two franchise players that complement each other in Wiggins and Towns perfectly unlike OKC's duo of Westbrook and Durant who are both pretty much shooting guards when it comes down to it.

Agreed.

Unfortunately, I still have this sitting in the back of my mind.

Thankfully, we have the rookie scale/extensions to at least delay for a few more years, if it ever were to come down to this.
