Long term solution at PF?
Now that our roster is basically set for next season it's clear to see that we have the PG, SG, SF, and C position established for the foreseeable future. I feel that we have one of the best young cores in the league with Jackson, KCP, Johnson, and Drummond but we are missing that final piece at PF. Ilyasova will be more than fine for now but what are some realistic options going forward? Should we wait until next offseason and try for a guy like Al Horford or Ryan Anderson? Or should we try and make a trade? We currently have all of our first round picks, young prospects, and quality players on good or expiring contracts. Who would you target via 2016 free agency or trade and why?

Re: Long term solution at PF?
We're not acquiring our future PF through free agency, we couldn't get anybody this summer and in the future everybody will have cap space. It's possible Morris is our guy, less possible it's Quincy, probably going to have to trade for a guy that's the odd man out after a bigger signing.

Re: Long term solution at PF?
Easily next years draft where Detroit will still have a high pick, there are a few good PF prospects,
Ben Simmons
Dragan Bender
Skal Labissiere
Diamond Stone
Ivan Rabb
Stephen Zimmerman
Henry Ellenson
Cheick Diallo
Damian Jones
Egemen Guven
Thomas Bryant
Devin Robinson
Nigel Hayes
Domantas Sabonis
Aleksandar Vezenkov
Malik Pope
some of them could play SF/PF, some PF/C, some will not declare, of course, but PF is strong next year.

Re: Long term solution at PF?
What do you guys think of Anthony Bennett? He is an athletic stretch 4 with lots of potential. Maybe bringing him in as a 5th option and being placed in SVGs offense would help him realize that potential. It would be a low risk/high reward move and would potentially provide us with a very young starting 5 that can grow together for years to come.
Jackson
Caldwell-Pope
Johnson
Bennett
Drummond
I would love to seem that team develop together under SVG. I think it's worth a shot.

I would love Terrence Jones.

Amen brother!
Cause if you're gonna drean you might as well dream BIG!
This what Reggie & Durant were discussing at SL...Durant was just annoyed he has to waste another season playing for Clay Bennett!

I'd love to take a chance on Bennett. I see something in him. SVG and our young core could be exactly what he needs to thrive. Low risk high reward.

as of 2011, this guy stands 6'7.5 with a 7'2 wingspan. he weighed 225 back then, but i'm sure he's packed weight on since then. he has a tremendous inside-out feel for the game as well as the length and lateral quickness to make a real impact defensively. with added strength, he'd be able to effectively guard stronger interior players, giving him that multipositional defensive versatility that teams covet.

would not be surprised if this guy's draft stock skyrockets out of our reach after next season, but he should absolutely be on our radar.

Now that Monroe is gone, it is time to bring back Josh Smith. We're already paying him anyways.

Re: Long term solution at PF?
anthony bennett isnt a guy id want. surprised he hasnt cracked yet and left the league. was hardly worthy of a top 12 pick, let alone #1
while i like terrance jones and he would be a decent fit, he doesnt have a reliable outside game, even though that is the majority of his game.

Our 2016 lottery pick likely nets us a PF. The draft should be deep at F next year.

He sure would look nice on the bench...

I wonder where the Smith's are going. Josh and JR... They're nice in the right role.
As far as PF... in this new small-ball NBA it could be Stanley but I have no idea. I feel like we'll get a franchise 4 one of two ways. We'll start winning and draw someone via FA/trade or we'll start losing and be able to draft a top piece

Re: Long term solution at PF?
I agree with Andre Drummond I think Quincy Miller could be that guy as he matures. I actually think Marcus Morris might grow up and move down to the four position too. Will be pretty elite at three out of the five positions anyway, so it's not like we need a perennial all star at the four
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.

I think will see a lot of Stanley and Marcus playing three and four together this year too

Ben Simmons would be awesome! Can't see us being bad enough to get him though.
