I still do not understand how can you sign Kevin Love to a 5 year, 110 million dollar contract and then sign your backup power forward to a five year max contract too. That would be nearly 200 million invested in one position. If the Suns got involved with Thompson, I do think he is a nice consolation prize after not landing Aldridge. I certainly would much rather have him than Markieff. Thompson and Chandler together is not all that much offensively but they would probably be the best rebounding and defensive frontcourt in the league. I would take a chance on Thompson if the price is right. I definitely would not give him a 4 year, max offer though. I would give him that 1+1 short contract at a large amount so the Suns get him for one year and then he can opt out for a much bigger deal if he wants. With that short term contract, you get a low risk, high reward situation. He is a monster rebounder and super tough so him, Chandler, and Len would be a monstrous defensive juggernaut.

paragraphs would be extremely helpful and make more people read this. I edited it with paragraphs...hope you don't mind.

Three super negative posts on Alec Brown.....wow! I don't understand people.

Saying maybe a guy improved and all you get is negative comments, outside of one person, who also said maybe we will see.

This "he is done" "there is no hope" " You will hit the lottery before" blah blah blah......is atrocious. If he is not a god from day one.....he isn't worth giving an opportunity, trade him for Sullinger the beast......or T Thompson the beast......smh.

You guys write of players way too easy.

I never really expect anything out of second round picks though. Obviously we'll have to wait and see, he'll get his opportunity. I just don't see him contributing though, like most 2nd round picks. Hopefully he can prove me wrong

I wouldn't give Thompson more than like $12M/yr. But that's the same contract he rejected from the Cavs before the season.

I doubt the Cavs let him walk anyway because LeBron has supposedly said that he won't resign with CLE until they pay Thompson.

We still need a backup PG, if Ish signs elsewhere, what do you guys thinking of signing a guy like Dellavadova or Austin Rivers?

Miami is also looking to dump Chalmers and he has an expiring contract so that could be another option.

All 3 players have experience playing for championship caliber teams so that's one positive...

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I doubt he commands that tank better than Frye did. Kerrsed, where's your old tank pics?

The power supply in my rig died out about 4 days ago, so I have no access to them until I Newegg delivers my new one. :waaa: :waaa:

I'd rather a calm vet who won't moan about minutes - someone like Prigioni or even take a flyer on a guard with some size like Alexey Shved. That guy played really well for the Knicks when he got minutes - haven't seen his name anywhere either.

Whoever they are they need to be able to make an open 3 - so no to guys like Will Bynum and Andre Miller (though he'd be a great vet around Bledsoe I think).

I'm not sure about Shved, there was a thread on him recently

I love the idea of Prigioni though. Forgot about him but yea he's definitely my top choice now for that backup PG spot, good looking out :D

i think at this point the suns need to round out their roster with experienced vets. the majority of our youth has never had that mentoring needed to mature in their roles. That is why i think Chandler is a great addition. But, we really havent had that kind of player for a couple of years. I'd say the closest we have had to someone the young guys can look up to is Dudley/Scola....and that is a stretch. Next season is going to be a struggle, and our best bet at this group of talent becoming something is to spend the year having them work with veterans who know how to win.

Adding a vet like Andre Miller would do wonders for us from a developmental standpoint.....especially in the backcourt. Even someone like Tayshaun Prince or Jason Terry. These guys arent going to get anything more than spot minutes, but what they do for our young guys behind the scenes will do wonders.

I hope the FO has realized that a bunch of young players isnt going to mature on their own.....and if anything they'll all stay immature together. That's the biggest reason i think keeping KG in Minny is probably the smartest thing that franchise has dont in years.

With the Celtics getting Lee

A Sullinger or Olynk trade become even more possible since they have like 18 PF's on the roster now

I feel they have decent assets to trade for Gallo, better than what we're prepared to offer

Kelly or Sullinger and/or Evan Turner and/or pick for Gallo works

Players that we can trade? Ummm...only Tucker and Markieff. Leuer makes only $1M and McNeal is not guaranteed.

My guess is that we are working with a third team and can grab a good player, I don't think we are looking for cap space.

I could see something like

DLee to the Suns
Haywood expiring to Celtics
Tucker to Cavs

I'd be down for that for sure.

Would Ainge bite on that Cavs 1st rounder for Sully?

Probably not enough, but this will be his fourth year and they might not want to pay him.

If Kieff is out, what are the odds @Suns bring in a vet like Stoudemire or Josh Smith to put alongside Chandler?

Paul Coro
The 1st part is a leap. He's the only starter-quality PF. Even if he was dealt, they wouldn't sign Josh Smith. STAT is possible.

I wouldn't like that trade. If we trade Tucker or Markieff I want a player with potential coming to the Suns. Someone like Cody Zeller or Porzingis.
Players like David Lee at this point of his career are easy to find in FA. I don't think he is better than Amare or Jordan Hill, for example.
