Spahic will be very important for HSV in the relegation playoff next year, he has plenty of big game experience.

And he'll be good to have around when they sell Tah for having talent and ambition.

I love it there, they even have a pretty cool soccer club in St. Pauli. Way too expensive to live there for me, though.

Mate, HSV are a way bigger club than Hertha. The latter are likely to get relegated next season. HSV is a CL-level club and it's a matter of time before it reaches that level again. A sleeping giant, you could call them the AC Mailand of German football. And Hamburg is one of the greatest cities in Germany, I think most of the guys in this thread would agree with me.

I never said Hamburg wasn't a nice place to live, I'm just saying that Berlin is absolutely gorgeous, and one of Germany's finest cities. But, how is Hamburg a CL-level club when they just barely avoided relegation this year?

milan has more cl titles this millenia than hamburg has in its history, they also havent placed lower than 10th in three decades let alone being a relegation fodder back to back years. if milan is sleeping, hsv is in a coma.

How many European Cups has Milan won without that corrupt nazi pedophile Berlusconi?

Anyway, what I meant that the 2 clubs are in a similar position atm. Massive clubs, who are underachieving but it's only a matter of time before they're back in the big time(CL).

they won more without berlusconi than hamburg did in its entire history, then won couple more in recently despite him. there is no comp between hsv and milan, hsv is more like sampdoria.

Hamburgs nightlife is def. the best in Germany.

The club that basically made the most iconic band of all time and also the birthplace of the most influential person in Europe/most influential woman in the entre world. Hamburg is a candidate for the 2024 Olympics as well, let's not forget.

meant historically. both fluked into european cup final generation ago, both hasnt been relevant for decades, both horribly mismanaged and have battled relegation recently. nottingham forest might also work but they have been more successful and respected much more than hsv globally.

Sad to see Marcell Jansen retiring that early.

One of the more underrated players in German football the last decade. But still a great servant for 2 of the biggest clubs in Germany, Gladbach and HSV. Too many injuries at Bayern.

He always had injury problems, no matter if at Hamburg, Bayern or even during his early years with Gladbach.

Two year loan deal isn't bad and right now the club is planning on using him most in a central midfield role.
Though, he'll have to beat out at least two out of Xhaka, Stindl and Nordtveit, with youngsters like Dahoud and Schulz also in the picture.

BTW: Tomorrow there'll be the Telecom Cup at Borussia Park.
First off Gladbach will play HSV and then Bayern vs Augsburg.
Winners and losers will meet eachother to determine 3rd place and the winner of the pre-season cup.
