ESPN sources say Blake Griffin has already huddled with DeAndre Jordan on the matter and that Chris Paul could also still join the process

   Sorry man but that whole self ban thing is hilarious. Plus if he decides to stay a Clipper after he said he was going to Dallas, you don't want someone like that.

Seriously I'm a chill guy around here. But some of the garbage that was posted by Clippers fans crossed the line. I mean way way over the line. I understood tho because they were bitter and emotional and I know they will get over it and whatever. But if this happens I'm really really tempted to riot.[/quote]

You're right on that though, they're acting like it's not a huge loss and by no means I'm saying all of there fanbase but 80-90% of them are like, "good riddance"

The truth is Jordan leaving is a huge blow and they know it.

Ultimately, its a player's league. If he wants to change his mind to go back to the LAC, eventually no one will care and it will no longer be a story.

If Jordan bolts, you can make the argument Dallas is a borderline lotto team. It sounds like Jordan made an emotional decision, out to stick it to the Clippers and Paul and the more he's thinking about it, the more he's second guessing.

If Jordan bolts there is no borderline--we are a lotto team. We might be one with him.

If this happens I am sure the league is going to look into either delaying the "official" start of free agency or move up the date where you can sign the new contracts. Otherwise it's dumb for the league to let this go on. Wesley Matthews for example committed to Dallas and agreed to less money because DJ is (or was) going there. Wouldn't Dallas go after Lopez or do a S&T for Hibbert if they knew they weren't getting DJ?

This is extremely dumb on DJ's part if true.

Nope, Cuban has said that if they missed out on DJ they would tank. It would be a race to having the most balls in the lottery. I would expect Matthews to still be signed but he and Parsons likely won't step foot on the court until at very least the All Star break at the earliest (you know because of injuries).

Looks like this is a very real possibility. DJ is a bitch if he goes back to LA.

No one would do business with an agent who on a whim can convince someone to go elsewhere after making a promise. Jordan's agents rep is on the line here.

As long as DeAndre says God told him to go back to LA no one can hate on him or else people will be labeled as intolerant.

It sure is a player's league but this is pretty unprofessional and you shouldn't be able to just reverse huge decisions like that without any penalty or something. Dallas could have gone after other centers like Lopez or Hibbert or decided to tank. Matthews left money on the table and took less to join Dallas.

I think if this happens the owners and even other players will care. I expect the rules to be changed if this happens where you can either sign a new contract earlier than July 9th or the start of free agency altogether is delayed.

Because he has several clients that currently play for the Mavs. Including Satnam Singh who the Mavs drafted as a favor to Fegan even though the Mavs know he'll never play in the NBA. The Clippers would like never be able to sign another Fegan client if DeAndre changes his mind.

I am just saying without DJ's commitment there's a million different ways the Mavs FO could have played this. They could have tanked or gone after another C to try and stay competitive. But now that option's not even there for them.

On the other hand, he'll never do it. He doesn't want to be there, he wants to be in Dallas, and even if he's having second thoughts his agent will be pushing like crazy to make sure he sticks with his commitment.

The time for the heavy pitching and wooing was last week, not today. I don't blame them for wanting to keep the team intact but they fumbled this one and are just trying to desperately save face now.

Not sure what Ainge has to gain?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Cuban can't fault the Clips for continuing to make their pitch. He can and should hold a grudge vs Jordan and his agent.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.
