This is the reason the moratorium for free agency should be shortened. Doesn't the NBA have like 300 accountants to know how much exactly the salary cap for FY 2016 will be?

Don't the Celtics have the Mavs pick?
Yep... I think it's top 7 protected though

I remember John "God told me to sign with Sacramento" Salmons after he agreed to sign with Toronto.
Boozer did something worse to the Cavs. Hedo did it to Portland but that turned out to be a good thing for the Blazers.

Like baseball there are certain "unwritten rules" and this is a big violation of it. Once a player commits to another team you move on.

I think it's pretty classless for the Clippers to continue like this after the agreement for the same reasons.
Clips should be fined and punished.

What unwritten rule? Isn't this the whole point of the moratorium? This isn't like reneging on a trade, where both sides have agreed to terms. The Clips aren't a party to the Mavs' unwritten agreement w/ Jordan, so they're not bound by it.
Yes, if anyone broke an unwritten rule here it's Deandre. What if the Clips did nothing to reengage until Jordan reached out to someone to say he was having second thoughts? What are they supposed to do? Tell him thanks, you gutted our team but you should keep your word?

How does this differ from Howard when he went back and forth before deciding on Houston?

yeah its not fair you took it seriously and we half-assed it. I mean what could they possibly beef about? That we told him he was better than he really is? Cuz that only happens with every FA ever.
You live and learn, Cuban learned about free agency when he didn't take it as serious as he needed to. Cuban wanted Deron Williams but had a scheduling conflict and didn't show up for the meeting so he's learned you can't take free agency lightly.
But Williams cited another factor Monday: the owner Mark Cuban’s absence from the Mavericks’ recruiting meeting. Cuban had a scheduling conflict — he was in Los Angeles shooting an episode of the reality television show “Shark Tank.”

Clippers lobbying to change DeAndre Jordan's decision, CP3 & Co. to meet with...
As a clippers fan, I hope he does change his mind. The pickings are slim out there, Clips were resigned to begging Javale McGee to take the vet minimum or hoping Larry Sanders gets his head on straight.
Deandre Jordan may burn his bridges with Dallas, but he needs to do what's best for his career and to be his best he needs a pg like CP3 to throw him lobs and set him up. There's no way he could equal his production on the mavs and their fans will just turn on him at that point anyways.

I hope Cuban is on the phone with Pierce's agent trying to convince him to go to Dallas now.

It's as if the Clippers just now took a look at their roster without DJ and had an "oh ****" moment.
I don't blame the Clippers for doing whatever they can to keep him before it becomes official. It's just comical that it took them this long. If they really wanted him that desperately they should've shown it in their meeting. I'm not sure who was in that meeting but I would've made sure CP3 (full from swallowing his pride), Blake, whoever his best friend on the team is, his mama, his dog, his goldfish, were all there in that meeting let him know how much he means to the team. Instead, it seems like all of us outside of the Clippers org were the only ones who knew they weren't squat without DJ. Too little too late.

Yeah, I'm curious about what they have to be unhappy about. He's a free agent - the Mavs have every right to sell themselves to him, and sell him to himself. If they went in with a line like "The Clips don't appreciate how good you are, we love you and will make you the focal point of our team", then fair enough.
