I've gone on record in saying that we need him for our championship aspirations for 2015-16, but I didn't like committing big money and term to a player who's focus, dedication, and commitment to winning is questionable. I'm fine with his return since he helps us win now, but I still don't like the idea of committing long-term to him. However, given that he signed a deal for only 4 years with a player option for that fourth year for little more than what the Mavs would have given him, I'm okay with it since he didn't require that 5th-year commitment.

He's a significant piece to the puzzle, but if we can trade him for something better later on, I'd be very open to it. In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy the team we have right now as we continue to add more supporting pieces to the build.

Things will be highly competitive in the Western Conference, but the Clippers should still make it into the playoffs. Even if we don't, the Clippers have the rights to its 2016 draft pick, which looks to be full of big men prospects (maybe Domantas Sabonis?), and Doc is restricted from dealing this pick at least until the day of the draft since he's already dealt the lottery-protected rights to our 2017 selection.

Last year, I identified D'Angelo Russell and Justise Winslow early as draft prospects that would be great fits for the Clippers. Obviously, they rose up the draft boards to be out of range even if Doc hadn't traded away our 1st-round selection. Right now and even earlier, I've started eyeing Domantas Sabonis as someone to possibly target in the 2016 draft.

Arvydas' son could just as likely move up the draft boards out of our reach, but maybe we can trade up for him. He's surprisingly still raw in terms of basketball IQ and physically given his father's natural instincts and fundamentals, but he'd be a nice addition to our frontcourt. However, he seems more like a pick Danny Ainge or Neil Olshey would make rather than Doc.

In any case, DraftExpress has him at the 22nd overall selection slot for its current mock draft while NBAdraft.net has him at 11th overall.
